4 colors are not completely clean:

I took this on the 17th, not the 16th. I can't handle the asymmetry in the camera roll because I am trash.
One of the key rules of race-walking is that at least one foot must be in contact with the ground at all times. There were monitors dotted around the track poised to show a yellow card to anyone who breached the rule; indeed warnings were given. But observing the rule isn't always easy, so it's not surprising that occasionally a walker will be spotted with both feet off the ground. It may just be bad luck that in three of my photos the winners of the men's and women's races are shown breaking the rule.
I call it cheating moon because I cheated when I took the picture. I used the multiple exposure setting: I took a photo of the moon then a second photo of the ESB.
Front page feature in the next issue of our paper is going to be about cheating. Obviously, we needed to stage a shot; this was what I came up with for the photo.
I took this photo on my thirtieth birthday, two days ago. And on that day, my husband gave me the delightful gift of what was possibly the most severe stomach flu I've ever had.
Which meant that I spent all day yesterday in varying degrees of consciousness.
Which meant that I didn't take a photo.
So here's that random, two-day-old shot: a blue marble that I found in my garden bed. Weird place to find a marble, no? Made me wish I had a macro lens - I could do all kinds of cool shiznit with that. But I don't, so this is what I ended up with. Meh.

Time to lighten up a bit. A friend took this shot of me, with his camera, at Grounds for Sculpture, a couple of days ago.
A look at the mechanisms. The gimbal is fully assembled now, and you can see the electrical connections on the underside of the helicopter. Eventually long cords will connect to those and provide power to the two motors inside the copter. The pin holes in the light grey base of the gimbal will connect to the support structure that's yet to be built. Lego also had to cheat a bit and put a couple gears on the outside of the helicopter since there's not room inside for them. The drive system here: There's a motor in the cockpit. It has a small bush on it, connected to the large pulley via the red belt. That drives the bevel gears, which turn the two gears on the ouside of the chopper. That then drives the worm gear and then the 24 tooth gear in the gearbox, which finaly tilts the black frame of the gimbal side to side.
