Spotted this interesting Ferrari while strolling in Wynwood, Miami. My husband couldn't believe someone would do that. It's definitely one of a kind! and I loved the way the light was beaming down on her.
Had a wonderful relaxing coastal drive during winter break.
This beach was wonderful for sunset.
Only us and the birds, leaving our marks in the sand.
Focus on the journey, not the destination. Joy is found not in finishing an activity but in doing it.
ng colors and squiggly lights punctuate this ordinary scene as the shutter stays open to let a bit of time accumulate. The figures are prominent. A line hints at separation and a fleeing figure makes me curious. The story is there and it's for each viewer to interpret.

I haven't had too much time to look at any of my photos. This is one I really like. A few of you probably already saw this on Facebook. Rachel called me from her morning commute and said I needed to get out there and 'shoot the moon!' And so I did! I had a bit of time to play with my 10-stop ND filter. And of course this was before the baby came!!
Today is the family photo shoot, then grandpa flies back home tonight.

Distincion and details may hide behind glass but the nuances show through delighting my eye with shapes and color and horizontal sweeps of space.

An old fishing boat wears years of multiple repairs to its surface as it sit in disrepair at dock. But wait! A vibrant color palette draws my eye. Designs dance across the surface without rhyme or reason - except to be. The frame forms including wonderful shapes and textures. Weights and balances are in harmony. Art is found.

When the sun first burst through the canyon I was a bit disappointed. You are, afterall, supposed to avoid direct sunlight when shooting waterfalls. But sometimes rules are meant to be broken.

Mono Lake on Christmas Day
And just like that, the show was over. As all the gorgeous light diminished, there was nothing much to work with, and it was time to pack up and go.
What a thrilling ride that I was able to catch though!
I don’t know when I would be back again, but hopefully I can go back very soon. I was super glad that I was able to catch clouds hovering over the snow-covered mountains while having some fantastic reflections of them.
Okay… Now, I need another adventure...

ICM, interntional camera movement, combines with double exposure to create chaos out of a colorful street scene. Buildings tilt and join forces for a multi patterned backdrop. The white line provides a path of excape. A story only imagined is created with a little camera motion and doubling the fun with darkroom magic.

Mono Lake on Christmas Day
The sun was peeking through the clouds and started shedding light on the snow covered Mono Dome and Lee Vining Peak.
The lake was calming just in time, as if it was a cue. And of course, as it got brighter, I had to run longer and longer in spite of having the 10-stop ND filter. I was just simply happy that the reflections the mountains and the clouds were getting clear.
The sunlight was slowly waking up Mt. Warren in the far distance (the snow-covered tallest peak in the top right corner of the frame).
Then, this gorgeous light would soon disappear. I had to act fast to take full advantage of this opportunity.

Vatnajökull is the biggest glacier on Iceland. His size is 8100 km². I wanted to cross a part of it on my trekking tour in June 2018...but things went a bit wrong...

Mono Lake on Christmas Eve
So, this was the first long exposure shot of the evening. I liked the composition a lot, so I kept everything as the test shot was taken. I started off from the beach closest to the boardwalk and slowly walked my way around the shore.
By the time when I shot this, the daylight was already faded immensely, so I knew I didn’t have much time left. Well, that is often the case in winter anyway. Oh, did I tell you that the temperature was dropping fast?
I wanted to show you how crisp these shots were, so I included the 1:1 ratio images of the rocks. It’s impossible to see the small details when you look at images on Instagram.
Please pinch to zoom them. You will see all the delicate textures of the rocks floating in the foreground or the Tufa towers in the lake (aka warship). Look at the fine blood-vessels looking little branches of the shrub next to the floating rocks.
Gotta love those details.

ICM, intentional camera movement, takes advantage of a simple color palette to tell a simple story. Lines surround the walking woman in a slight diagonal cant. Red joins her magenta coat to add a spark of energy and potentially clarify her intended path. Rich light provided detail and there is sharpness about - places to rest my eye.

On the streets of Havana you'll often see people wearing all white, these people are going through their Santeria initiation.
Santeria, or "the worship of saints" is becoming a very popular religious practice in Cuba.

Color forms an intended triangle that anchors this street shot. Hues of red knit together pieces of the scene. She is the focal point, as humans usually are, and combined with her brightly lit bike, form the focal point. Strong vertical lines form a frame within a frame while intricate diagonals add interest and a feel of motion. Hot and cool add energy. But it is the light, choosing to dance within the frame at random that makes my eye want to explore the frame.

Multiple exposures emphasize the human figure and the graffiti that surrounds her. Light gives energy with its diagonal slant as it highlight areas of interest and directs my eye.

THE OLD BRIDGE
When I was at the age of 15 my brother and me often drove in his car to the Eifel. He and my uncle Erich introduced me to Blues and Jazz music.
One piece I will never forget was „Even Trolls Love Rock and Roll“ by Tony Joe White.
And it goes like this:
But we came upon a long black stretch of woods
Had an old river running through it
And an old wooden bridge across the river
Well just as I was about to step up on the bridge
Out stepped the troll…
So this was what I was thinking when I saw that bridge in the middle of Norway…of course :-) Have a great day!

Mono Lake on Christmas Day
I spotted this small, sheltered space with a view of the snow-covered mountains. Unlike the open part of the lake, the water was rather calm, so I was quite excited about the reflections. The reflections of the mountains were definitely not in store.
While the bands of thick clouds hovered over the mountains like Mono Dome and Lee Vining Peak, but, quite surprisingly, even Mt. Warren was clearly seen.
The mood that I found myself in was not necessarily something that I was looking forward to. And yet, it could change any minute. And I was hoping for it.
I saw a bit of muted pink seeping through the sky. Definitely part of Earth’s Shadow, but I wasn’t sure if it would come through or turn into something that made my attempt worthwhile.
So much for chasing light, I thought.
But then again, it could change any minute, I told myself.
