Growing up we'd make the trip from Colorado / Arizona down to Rocky Point every year. It was a second home where I learned about tidal pools, the sea, and fostered a love of nature. These photos are from a return visit and catch one of the famous Mexican sunsets which make the area such a delight to visit. If you look closely, in some, you can see the silhouette of the baja peninsula.

La vie est belle or life is beautiful—the expression of a new era.

I must admit… I never thought I would like the desert. Growing up in an area that was generally always hot, I always wanted to stay away from dry places with extreme heat. Death Valley National Park totally changed that for me. There are so many beautiful and magical places to see here. We tried driving quickly up this high peak, afraid we would miss the sunset. It took much longer than we thought, but we mananged to get there as the sun crept behind this strange valley. I will definitely remember this moment. :D

Shot with a Canon 6D, a 24-105mm f/4 lens and natural light.

I wish i remembered the story behind this look
