The Sleepy Poet Antique Mall didn't have a lot of pyrex, but I saw this lovely jar on Saturday and left it behind. It wasn't until we got back to the hotel that I realized that I really wanted it. It would look great on my mantle! So I hoped it would be there when I went back for it on Sunday, and it was. The vendor was in the booth and told me that this belonged to her mother-in-law who passed away 2 years ago. She told me that her MIL always kept it on her mantle! Wow! I told the vendor that I would treasure it. She then told me that her MIL's name was Eileen, that she was Irish, and that she had lived in Ohio where pieces like this were made. Eileen had awesome taste, don't you think? Does anyone have any information about this piece? I have no idea how old it is or how it was designed to be used. It's large enough to store cookies. I love it!
