Look, The Cranes are picking up the whole city ????
How apropos for Charlotte NC, where the Construction Crane is the official city bird. Rumor on good authority says that Charlotte will be getting several more high rises in the near future.
This one was shot from the top level of the Novant Healthcare Annex parking deck.
I suppose this view will be gone as soon as the cranes are replaced by yet another high rise building.

***UPDATE 1/23/14***: This siren has been removed. Probably because of a building renovation.
Located in downtown Charlotte, NC on top of a building. This photo was taken by my father. This siren is decommissioned since 1990. It seems this siren is missing 1 projector.
April 1, 2000 in Charlotte, NC: Norfolk Southern train with two former Conrail units as sole power heads south. This train has just got clearance to leave the Charlotte yard, head under Brookshire past an ADM plant and will soon pass Ericson Stadium, home of the NFL's Carolina Panthers.
NS #8463 was a GE C32-8, former Conrail "Ballast Express" unit. Only ten of this model were built, all for Conrail, and all got the grey paint.
