Scan of an old photo. A real character from an old neighborhood. I assume that he is no longer with us.
I drew this little figure in multiple poses and doing different things to demonstrate how I might incorporate him/her/it into my sketchnotes. I need to be able to draw the character doing different things quickly if it's going to be effective. This is a cheat sheet that I can practice from.

I dunno, I still think this is a guy, but the costume is that of a goofy street woman. The large hat was laden with trinkets and I wonder how the hat supports all the weight.

This image is of an annual event called Comic Con in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where young folks dress up in costume representing their favorite comic character. There was a long line of participants waiting for entry into the stadium where judging took place. It offered a photo opportunity.
Superhero characters above a comic store in Sydney Street, Brighton, spotted as I was returning my "Riddler" suit to the hire shop, just down along the road.
My character looks much better in my opinion now, thanks to Swar
Still have to work on it some more and practice making it a bit more clean, (shading, etc.)

Mirai Suenaga is the main character of Mirai Millennium. She is a 2nd year high-school student at Asakusa Metropolitan High School a covert member of the Solar Marine Crimson Force. After classes, Mirai participates in the news club activities at school where she is both a newscaster and reporter. Mirai has a bit of a shy side but at heart she is a very reliable young girl. She has a strong curiosity and will follow it through to the end with adventurous spirit. Her favorite food is oranges, and her favorite color is also orange. Her dream is to become a camerawoman.

While putting up decorations, we ran across some very old Christmas ornaments that belonged to my parents. My mom had identified them in writing that they were purchased in 1949. They have not been put out for many years because of their age.
This year, my brother made a special tree for displaying them.
We also bought a special box for storing them.
Three of the oldest ornaments were Disney Characters. They are rather simple - a shiny ball with a white area in which the character is painted. This is good old "Mickey."
Of course, being almost 70 years old, they are in pretty rough condition. Considering how very fragile they are, it is amazing that they survived this long. Three boys grew up in this household and were always allowed to decorate the tree!

One of my favorite fictional character is Mrs. 'Arris (Mrs. Harris) from the 1958 novel "Mrs. 'Arris goes to Paris" by Paul Gallico. It's a story of a London char woman who goes to Paris to buy couture from House of Dior. She's spunky, feisty, and innocently charming.
When I got this Fashion Fever make-up doll from 2005, I was fascinated by the fact that it had rooted eyelashes and her face-up is divine. To me , she has the 50's lady-like spirit and demeanor. So I decided to boil perm her veeerrrryyyyy thick hair and the result is veeerrrrryyyyy big hair which I LOVE LOL
