We were visiting some friends in Vancouver when I took this shot. While enjoying the view from their balcony, 8 floors up, the sky began to change. I excused myself and bolted for my camera to catch this rare sight.
The pink horizon line across the sky, matched the many lines created by the Vancouver buildings of the downtown district. I wanted to put the Pan Pacific building in the bottom left to help anchor the shot.
Amtrak's California Zephyr train No. 6 rumbles along the 1983 Thistle Line Change on a perfect June 17, 1989 morning. The lead engine, F40PH No. 224, shows signs of a recent paint job. At the rear of the 15-car train is Rio Grande business car No. 100, traveling between Salt Lake City and Denver.
"Seasons change as do people...
A girl named Autumn….enters quietly into the room….
Yet no one sees her there...
She has a certain presence, still …
and her perfume fills the air...
Yet no one speaks to her…
Her colors are not light, but bright…
reds, yellows and orange, quite a sight… "

Messi has become dement he doesn´t recognize me anymore, don´t understand that I am calling his name.
Someone has taken him to live at their place..and once every third week or so does he come in and eat with his sister Sia.
It is sad...he is afraid for me and I can´t cuddle him.
The first thing that catches your eye here is the absence of lively groups of students running from one building of the institute to another or sitting on benches between lectures and noisily discussing something... War changes everything...

When walking in the "Glottertal" area, It was an interesting weather situation that day.
After a warm, sunny day, the temperatures began to fall in the late afternoon and the clouds came in over the peaks of the Black Forest. The steep vineyards were still illuminated by the sun - a lovely contrast.
By the way, the deep red vine leaves are those from Teinturier varieties.

Wishing you a Happy December, dear friends :-)
The berries are turning red, the leaves are starting to change colour, as we slip from summer into autumn.

The leaves are starting to change. Our days are still stupidly hot but the nights at least are cooler. Hooray.
I have no idea if this photo will ever appear as I have had annoying issues all day with Flickr.

Founded at a time when photography was only beginning to secure a foothold both in museum collections and in the art market at large, A Gallery for Fine Photography is a living landmark in the history of photography. Located in the Historic New Orleans French Quarter, A Gallery opened its doors in 1973, a world away from the cornerstones of the global contemporary art scene. Thanks to the staunchly independent vision of its founder, Joshua Mann Pailet, A Gallery has remained a haven for photography, from the earliest photographs to contemporary pieces. Over more than four decades in business, A Gallery for Fine Photography has established itself as one of the most respected photography galleries in America – one that has flourished despite an ever-changing art world by remaining true to itself and Pailet’s unique perspective.
Joshua Mann Pailet is a documentary photographer and gallerist who has been one of the most significant figures of the photography community in his native New Orleans for forty-five years.

Where could it still be possible to shoot a trio of IC Death Stars in 2020? With the arrival of two SD70M-2s and another pair en-route to the BLE, the answer may soon be nowhere. Perhaps not a surprise to many, as it was astounding such lashups are still possible 22 years after CN acquired control of the IC in 1998. For now, the trio can still be seen rather reliably every morning departing Greenville around 0600 heading to Conneaut and back south to Kremis, where a second crew takes the ore to North Bessemer and empties back to Greenville for the night. The train is here seen at KO junction on its southbound trip shortly before the crew change at Heckman road.

Standing on top of a cliff and shooting the Green Bridge in Wales, reminded me that this is the decade where so many of us finally awoke to realise that climate change is here.
I hope that part of the outcome of the US presidential election will bring a window of opportunity to change matters for the better.
Rejoining the Paris climate accord would be an encouraging first step in the right direction.

From the heights of Roc du Tals, I wanted to capture the wild beauty and changing mood of Ariège as autumn gives way to winter.
This panorama reveals a deep valley interwoven with golden, red, and green hues, crowned by the legendary peaks of Pic de Saint-Barthélemy (right) and Pic de Soularac (left) already dusted with snow.
My intention was to convey a sense of vastness, tranquility, and the striking contrast between the forest’s warm explosion of color and the cool silence of the summits.
Gazing upon these storied mountains, I felt both small and privileged, witnessing the quiet dialogue between the land, the sky, and a forest in transformation.
I hope this image will inspire others to pause, breathe, and marvel at the raw poetry and grandeur of the Ariège.
This is Rainting of a vehicle headlight. The headlight was real. The process of a "Rainting" makes it look like it wasn't.

Mountain hares have evolved to change colour from dappled shades of brown to white, keeping them camouflaged against the winter snow. They are at their most vulnerable when they are still young leverets and preyed upon by foxes, stoats, birds of prey and cats.
Most active in the evening and at night, mountain hares will rest in forms and scrapes during the day with their backs to the wind sheltered by rocks and heather.
With concerns of global warming reducing snowfall in parts of the UK, mountain hares may suffer from being exposed in the wrong-coloured pelage, or moult, if there is insufficient cover.
