Another shot of the amazing rolling hills and farmlands of the Palouse Region, as seen from Steptoe Butte. This place was simply spectacular and got better as the sun set lower in the sky, which then lead to the casting of shadows among the rolling hills. Always changing landscape; always equally impressive.
While standing there photographing the farmlands, I couldn't help but wonder what they would look like in the winter, or another season. So, I looked up images of those seasons as well. As expected, the terrain varied greatly with the seasons - ranging from lush green, to varied colors (depending on the crops), to brown (when harvest season is over), to snow covered. Wish I could visit there each season to document the same spot in the changing seasons.
While researching the area, I found a really cool fact about the area. It involves the Giant Palouse Earthworm, thought to be extinct, but has been documented in several sightings. These earthworms grew up to 3 feet in length in the past, but more current sightings weren't even 1/2 of that size. Their scientific name is Driloleirus, meaning "lily-like worm", after the lily scent that they were reported to have emitted. Super cool. We, of course, didn't see any (they are extremely rare), but I did have a hitchhiking tick on my face while there ... YIKES!

I think this year more than ever we're seeing the devastating effects of Climate Change. I know the west coast is burning up and over here in the east we are inundated with excessive amounts of moisture and flooding! it's truly frightening how extreme the weather is becoming. climate.nasa.gov/evidence/

Adam Dental Clinic always has an amazing light show. So here are a few examples! Here the colours change over tine so look at all three!
On our way to Jasper the trees were just starting to turn their golden color. Two days later on the way back down we drove in snow. But either way we met beauty.
I decided to photograph this tree throughout the year and then combine the photos into one showing all four seasons. However it fits this week's theme so this is a mid-term view of the ongoing project.
We've have some happy little changes implemented in recent weeks - some small improvements that have made a big difference. We are now at the end of our commissions (You're in for some Spam this weekend!) and we want to move forward in a positive direction.
Although some of these are gradual improvements over the course of a couple of months, here is a list of little improvements we have made.
✮ Improved Packaging - The wigs are now arriving much better than previously. They will still need brushing once removed from their boxes, but the fibres are remaining as they should do during transit. We've had enough testing to confirm that the new packaging is working out wonderfully.~
✮ Sturdier Cap - The caps are made with a different material and in a different method with an additional "sideburn" area on some styles to add extra length around the face~
✮ Thicker, Fuller wigs.
✮ A set shipping schedule. We ship every Saturday or worst case scenario, the following Monday.
C H A N G E S T O C O M E
✮ Rebranding - We will be changing our name before the launch of the winter sale. With so many positive improvements we'd like to go into the new year with an equally positive mindset. We aren't the wig shop we were when we started this a year ago and we have grown and learned so many things. We want to come back anew with a name that really reflects us rather than continue on as Frappzilla, which was first and foremost a personal username that was never really meant for the both of us. We'll have a fresh new image and even some new models so we can show you guys our designs to their full potential.
✮ New Store - One of the most exciting things to come in the next week or two is the new and improved webshop which I have mentioned in recent posts. The new store will feature your own personal login area, automated (at last) shipping notifications and a lot of other exciting features.
✮ Monthly Newsletter - Something that we wanted to bring to you in 2015 will finally be coming at the start of the new year, thanks to the new store.
✮ New Styles - With the new models comes a new approach with our premium line, featuring more realistic designs, hairlines and parts. We anticipate a heavy focus on shorter cuts alongside the current kinds of wigs we offer. We'll also have some fun and quirky additions that you won't have seen anywhere before and we'lll finally launch our line of dreadlocks wigs too.

Some of the trees are starting to turn colors in Queen Elizabeth Park. This one is in the large quarry garden.
I really can't believe that October is nearly over. It went by so slowly while I was incapacitated, but within one week I made seven different trips within 9 days to capture the fall elements before they were gone for the winter. I think it's time for a break for a while :-)
Update: This photo was replaced on 10/31/07. Thanks to Nature Shooter for pointing out a few things that could be changed. I adjusted the blue tint of the water and lightened the background in photoshop elements.
Another Update: Thanks to bnzai9 for suggesting to change the tint over the leaves and for completing some dodging over the leaves to lighten them. Replaced again on 10/31/07. I am attempting to do more with photoshop rather than leaving my photos to the natural digital sensor.
We have 55018, in 1979, working the 10:45 Leeds - Kings Cross passing Lofthouse Colliery. I am stood on the road bridge, which now gives access to Outwood station.
The view 41 years later, has an Azuma, working a Leeds - Peterborough service (due to Sunday engineering works). This shot is from the drone, as no photo is possible from the road bridge due to trees.
Lofthouse colliery site is now a nature reserve, and has a memorial to the 7 miners who lost their lives when the workings at the colliery were flooded on March 21st, 1973.
This is the first tree I have seen so far with all, or nearly all, of its leaves changed. Taken on a very damp morning using a Nikon D5100 with Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 lens.

I hated the brown, It made that green look even more garish to me sooo I repainted the table and shelves white and I decided to just make the shelving evenly spaced and have them completey wrap around the corner rather than that break in the middle. It looks a lot more cohesive to me now but now my back hurts! LOL

... happen in all aspects of living, but also geographically for a variety of reasons.
Geographically speaking, one area always shifting and changing is where Corney Brook/Rivière à Lazare flows into the gulf. The currents, storm surf & winds will shift the sand and gravel quite dramatically, often beckoning me to come down for a few pix.
Yesterday was such a day, I had planned to go for a drive up further, but then got distracted by this.

I'm now revisiting a few videos I made en femme not that long ago. This video snapshot is from May 2, 2019. When I previously posted pics for flickr from 2018-19 activity, I often only included here one or just a few snapshots per video taken. But more recently I've gotten into the practice of capturing more worthy video snapshots from individual videos of mine, so I'm doing a *retrospective* series now highlighting some such newly-captured snapshots, of course linking to the original video posted on YouTube.
As usual, I really enjoy color-coordinating attractive/sexy/cute outfits, and this one features:
* a "sugarplum" purple long layered-cut wig, from Forever 21;
* super-sexy Jessica Simpson fuchsia-magenta faux-suede strappy 4.5"-stiletto-heel dress sandals;
* a Thalia Sodi "plum combo" fuchsia-floral-print scuba pencil skirt, from Macy's;
* a B.Wear magenta scoopneck chiffon banded-trim 3/4-sleeves top;
* magenta wide-net fishnet stockings, from WeLoveColors.com, on top of nude ultra-sheer pantyhose;
* a fuchsia/black 2"-wide waist belt, from BeltIsCool.com;
* a magenta-purple handbag;
* a purple floral-print neck scarf;
* a fuchsia/pink necklace;
* fuchsia/pink/purple/gold bracelets; and
* rose gold rings & gold earrings.
This particular pic is a snapshot from a video taken in a ladies changing room at my local Macy's, where I like to utilize their extra mirrors to some effect.
