"The Wave" is a sandstone rock formation in the Coyote Buttes North section of the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument in the U.S. state of Arizona. It is known for its dramatic undulating forms created by erosion.

The sandstone has been sculpted into a series of swirling, undulating ridges and troughs, creating a truly unique and otherworldly landscape.

The rock exhibits a range of colors, including vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows, which are further enhanced by the changing light throughout the day.

Due to its fragility and popularity, access to The Wave is restricted. Only 20 permits are issued per day through a lottery system.

Do you believe that there's someone up above?

And does he have a timetable directing acts of love?

Why did I write this song on that one day?

Why did you touch my hand and softly say

"Stop asking questions that don't matter anyway

Just give us a kiss to celebrate here today"

Something changed

When we woke up that morning we had no way of knowing

That in a matter of hours we'd change the way we were going

Where would I be now, where would I be now if we'd never met?

Would I be singing this song to someone else instead?

I don't know but like you just said

Something changed

Jarvis Cocker explained the meaning behind the song in an interview with Dave Simpson for Melody Maker magazine around the time of the single's release: "It was originally written about 12 years ago. My sister sang an early version, but it had different words. It never got used, and then I just remembered it. Because it had been written such a long time ago it made me wonder what I was doing then. And I worked out that it must have been written quite near to me meeting this girl. It's just wondering, really. If I hadn't gone out and met this particular person in this particular nightclub, and formed a relationship with her, how different would my life have been? So it's not really about fate, it's more about the randomness of things. Which I like. As I've said before, that's the main thing I feel is missing from my life. The worst thing about having a schedule and a timetable is that there's less chance for unexpected things to happen."

I don't strongly believe in fate, but life sometimes unfolds in such strange and unexpected ways that it makes one wonder. Or perhaps it is completely random; we are just here and not there. For better or worse.

Metra F59PHI #84 pushes a Milwaukee District train towards Union Station.

Many changes have occurred here in the 10 or so years I've been photographing this area as the area has shifted from industrial to residential. The condo building at left is a good example. Its architecture seems all too common. It is very obtrusive (out of scale to the rest of the area).

Oh well, the signal bridge has remained somewhat the same, although the former position lights have been replaced with modern signals. And a lot of the Metra coaches were built in the early to mid 1970s.

All change is a miracle to contemplate, but it is a miracle that is taking place every instant.

I had intended to do other thiings today but then the snow came down. not that much but enough that I didn't feel like going out in it and what I intended to do can wait. So why waste an opportunity to be my preferred self.?

So little time,

Try to understand that I'm,

Trying to make a move just to stay in the game,

I try to stay awake and remember my name

But everybody's changing,

And I don't feel the same..

You're gone from here

Soon you will disappear

Fading into beautiful light

'Cause everybody's changing

And I don't feel right ....

Steppin Out....

Looking for a change of pace from shooting the same sites over and over so I decided to visit Pinecrest Gardens today as I haven't been there a a few years. Why, oh why, have I stayed away so long. I had a great day....shady, no crowds, and so much to shoot.

This image is a second image which was captured earlier this week in Wiltshire whilst taking the opportunity to photograph the Milky Way. I think it's fair to say I got a little distracted.

The last time that I was fortunate to photograph the Northern Lights, was back in Iceland in March/April 2016, so only taken eight years. Hopefully some more opportunities in the near future.

Thanks to turning back the clocks one hour, I get to see the sunrise again on my way to work. It's a nice change of pace but it gets dark earlier in the evening.

Taken only last year, but this show of 63628 BJ73 WVO is already very different to today.

In light of some constructive criticism, I made some small changes to my Makuta:

-Trans-orange chain across the torso

-Trans-purple upper-limb bones & shells under the gold add-ons

-1/2 bushings on the spear

-Obligatory Mask of Creation (featuring a weird connection)

What I absolutely CANNOT add to the upper thighs is gold. I do have two of the medium-size rubber teeth pieces in gold, but they don't sit flush enough to the armor to work well. I may be able to find/make some gold stickers for them though, but if I do that I would much rather affix them to the knee protrusion.

I was originally going to wear this little waistcoat over my top on the Friday evening but decided I'd be probably too warm in the venue.

1920x817, Nice shield...

First self-portrait in such a long time. I was long overdue for a change, so I cut off my hair. Personally, it was more than just a haircut. Insecurities used to eat me alive, so I would hide behind my hair. Honestly, It took me so many years to become comfortable enough with myself for such a change. I've grown out of who I used to be. So, here's to a new start and a brand new me...

P.S. I've been posting stuff like crazy on Facebook, so I would truly appreciate if you "liked" my page. ;)

I am borrowing the Flickr Friday theme of the week for our group, too, as it is giving me a chance to take a photo I have long wanted to take.

The Week#239 theme will be CHANGE.

To give us a lift towards our choice of image, nothing better than:

The Serenity Prayer:

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, The courage to change the things I can, And the wisdom to know the difference.

To depict serenity to accept the things one can not change, another image of my lovely mother-in-law that you already know as she has graciously posed for varios photos we have seen in these groups.

Here, she is smiling, in advanced stages of Alzheimer's and bedridden with a broken femur, holding a memory of times past.
