Three Norfolk Southern crew members climb aboard CSX 7736 at Sharonville Yard, ready to take the Ringling Brothers, Barnum & Bailey circus train East towards Watkins Yard in Columbus, OH.
In the cab are two I&O crew members, getting ready to debrief the oncoming crew and detrain for their "taxi". It is here as well the symbols change from IORY-01 to NS 099-20.
After a day which touched the 40s Celsius, a storm barrels in across Sydney's Northern Beaches.

The bosses shut the office early today as they're trying to avoid a visit by the three spirits of Christmas so I stopped off on the way home to shoot some of London's landmarks with my trusy old GF2. Here's a view of St Paul's Cathedral from the One New Change shopping/office building.
So I'm loving the idea of a Victoria's Secret design theme, however I'm pretty sure it will look like poop with my warm walnut tone floors, I put allot of hours into them so I have to give this more thought.............I suppose I could tint the floors so they look more reddish, painting over them is out of the question.........Maybe save the parquet floors for a future project and do some new shinny black floors ? Crazy how I dive into these without a clear vision of the finished design, that's just my process I guess..........
as seen in my garden as I pull up stakes and go to a hotel for a week, somewhere else for a month or so and hope the repairs are done to my home. I am not sure when I will be back on flickr, but I will be back! I'll miss you all, Denise, Nancy, Spidy, Lynne, Don, TheNewjane, Joanie, Hug a horse, Peter, Newfie, BJKing, too many to list. I know I have missed many, i have no time to write you all in, i'll be back.

This week I attended a meet up with around 20-30 other photographers in Sydney. It was so much fun and I got to meet some of my inspirations, old flickr friends and new photographers. I was able to talk about all things photography while exploring the amazing location of Cockatoo Island. I'll be creating a blog post about it soon so keep a look out :)
Asher stayed with my family and I for a couple of days and we watched the last Lord of the Rings film (because I hadn't finished the series yet), snapchatted crazy videos to everyone we knew, edited, walked my dogs, watched weird videos on the internet, stayed up way too late and took photos at the park.
Today, Ash, Christian and I met up with Jess Christie & Bronwyn Townsend at Maroubra beach for a shoot. We stayed all day and took so many photos (including this one). I apologise Ash for making you smell really bad, but as you said - it was worth it haha! I already miss her and everyone else but we're already planning on another meet up in July. I'm off to bed because these past few amazing days have tired me out and I have an assignment to finish tomorrow as well as go to work. Hope you're all well <3
P.S. Congrats to my New York friend, Jackson for being featured on flickr today! :)

Near Bylong, New South Wales, Aurizon's GE-powered 5025 (with 5006 out of sight at the rear) heads empty coal train WG741 bound for the mine at Wilpinjong - Sunday 28 April 2019.
Both locos were delivered to QR National for work in the Hunter, with QRN being re-branded 'Aurizon' in December 2012 - which has involved two livery changes since then. Aurizon now handles around 30% of the Hunter coal haulage task after start up in 2005 with one contract.
Changes in train operation in recent years have seen a move to distributed power, such as this example, on some Aurizon and Pacific National services.

"Change here for Bridport West Bay, calling at Toller, Powerstock, Bridport, Bridport East and Bridport West Bay" Unfortunately, the branch line to Bridport closed decades ago!
A new Dorset exploration has commenced, this time following the Bridport Railway branch line from Maiden Newton to Bridport West Bay. The distance is not much over 10 miles but is already proving rather surprising and interesting. Several more exploration posts will follow in the next few weeks.
This photo shows the modern day operation at Maiden Newton Station on the Bristol to Weymouth line. Note the double track lay out that allows a passing place on what is often a single track line in Dorset. On the far platform, the 11.38 is about to depart to Weymouth. On the near platform, the 11.40 stopper awaits a token to depart north, destination Bristol Parkway.
Can you see the guard at the end of the platform? The historic photo below, posted a couple of years ago, will have been taken from the other platform, more or less directly across from where he is standing. It shows where the Bridport Branch operated from at Maiden Newton Station. It is along that trackbed that we started our exploration.

I took the original photo of the Amish Buggy in the snowstorm. I might upload it one day. Just fooling around with textures for now.

Changes to Metra's locomotive roster are occuring and will be occuring for the next few years. One of the first such changes is the aquisition of Amtrak's former Surfliner F59PHI's. Here we see one leading an outbound Milwaukee District West line train to Elgin Illinois under the now modernized signals at CP Morgan in Chicago Illinois.
believe it or not, this sheet was completely wet. i was hoping for it to look more transparent and stick to the skin, but i suppose it needed to be more wet and stretched etc..
despite what i said about thoroughly planning my photos, this wasn't as planned out as i would have hoped. i am still quite pleased by the result i got from a fairly spontaneous shoot, though :)
I've been dismayed to hear that people are thinking of quitting due to the changes to the free membership....I would be very unhappy to see anyone go as it's the interaction between members which keeps it alive...otherwise it's just a load of pictures. I thank all those who take the trouble to comment and fave and also post so many inspiring images.
I've paid the sub for many years (and for a Yorkshireman that's something)....and I feel the benefits are worth it. So if you are thinking of leaving, please rethink...maybe even put your hand in your pocket!!
Plumes of water vapour from the nearby Power Station are clearly visible in the sub zero temperatures.

I watch the ripples change their size
But never leave the stream
Of warm impermanence and
So the days float through my eyes
But still the days seem the same
And these children that you spit on
As they try to change their worlds
Are immune to your consultations
They're quite aware of what they're going through
Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes
(Turn and face the strain)
Ch-ch-Changes
Don't tell them to grow up and out of it
Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes
(Turn and face the strain)
Ch-ch-Changes
Where's your shame
You've left us up to our necks in it
Time may change me
But you can't trace time
Went to Bi-Centennial park this morning in Sydney to suss out a few locations. Not a cloud in the sky again. Had a nice image in mind for this location, but I shall return again when the conditions are right. Had a bit of Infrared fun with this so as not to waste the day. Hope you like "Changes". Cheers, Mike
With 47812 parked up on the right, the driver of 73968 walks to the other end of the loco to get ready to depart with 0Z75 Derby to Loughborough. This was the locos final test run before departing to Scotland the week after.

Flickr is still my favorite place to upload for a reason even if instragram is more popular.
This is my own dress, before I started trying on. As I headed home in the late afternoon I popped into the supermarket for some food shopping, but I didn't miss the chance to try a few dresses first.
You have seen those dresses already and some have wondered why I was wearing black tights with a summery dress. Well, it was to match this daytime outfit and they are not tights either.

Over the past few years, ballet schools and companies have finally seen an increase in diversity, and I love seeing this change in the ballet world.

Whilst on route to a river location I found myself on this amazing corn field with this large tree on the side, I loved the dramatic colours throughout these stormy sunset clouds, I think its the season change from Summer to Autumn that's causing these dramatic skies lately

So far 2014 has been a frustrating year. Physically, at work & in my personal life - all have experienced unwanted change. My reluctance to accept them just compounds my unhappiness and does nothing to improve the issues.
I see more changes coming. I would like to move forward, adapt and influence the new directions. I guess that choice is up to me.
