"Changes" is a song by English singer-songwriter David Bowie, originally released on his 1971 album Hunky Dory. RCA Records then released it as a single from the album on 7 January 1972. Written following his promotional tour of America in early 1971, "Changes" was recorded at Trident Studios in London between June and July that year.
At this point in his career, Bowie had experimented with numerous musical styles, all of which failed to earn him stardom. The lyrics of "Changes" reflect this, with the first verse focusing on the compulsive nature of artistic reinvention and distancing oneself from the rock mainstream. Musically, "Changes" is an art pop song that features a distinctive piano riff. Upon release as a single, "Changes" flopped like its parent album. It wasn't until the success of its follow-up The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars that the song garnered success.
Retrospectively, "Changes" is regarded as one of Bowie's best songs, with many praising Bowie's vocal performance and Wakeman's piano playing. His biographers have viewed the track as a manifesto of his entire career, predicting a constant change of musical styles. Bowie performed "Changes" frequently during his concert tours; it was the final song he performed on stage before his death in 2016.
The genesis for the destructive Camp Fire was one mile to the north of the tiny resort community of Pulga, CA, located in the Feather River Canyon. According to reports, the entire area surrounding Pulga was wiped out by the fire. It makes shots like this extra special. Late on a summer afternoon, a westbound Union Pacific grain train exits the small resort community.
Louisiana is beginning the change from green to brown ....I can't wait for that first real cold snap!

When I was young the answer was "Poke him in the eye!" But these days I suspect traffic and parking are enough to make a Maltese very cross indeed. Around Valletta and Sliema traffic is horrendous and parking no better, both a real nightmare. For a change there was nothing in front of this garage, so I was able to get my photo. But this was probably the exception to the rule...

Changes in the forest Bracken as Autumn draws on, gradually turning from Green to rich Orange Brown, the colours enhanced by the recent torrential rainfall.
Spent a couple of hours in the Beeches yesterday morning to check on the colour. There is now a definite change on the way especially at the very tops of the tree canopy and trees on the periphery. There was also that lovely damp earthy smell that you tend to get in the Autumn months and certainly more fungi around than previous years. Looking forward to showing around my first 1-2-1 workshop client next week!
2018 has been a very interesting year on the CN in Michigan, colorful lashups, more trains, a lot of changes has made it a good spot to be at. With Bridge and Structure department currently rebuilding the steam-era wood pile road bridge that allows Newberry Rd. to pass over the tracks, it has made for an already addicting location even more intriguing. Passing under the old bridge, CN Q116 is in full dynamics as they come into Durand to prepare to turn off the Flint Sub onto the Holly Sub with one of the two CITX SD70M-2's that CN is leasing. While change on the railroad can be for the worse, this change is for once, good.
The blue house in this Google Earth photo is the same reddish house I shot several years ago - but everything has changed color now! This Google shot is from Aug, 2018, while mine was from March 2016. I do enjoy touring the streets of Cape May via Google Earth! I would never go there in person in August myself, since it's quite crowded then.
The pink peony I posted the photo of on June 15th (Frilly) has now started to change colour.

Joni Mitchel had it right. We're almost to summer (or winter depending where you are located!) The spiraling changes make me feel dizzy as each day beings new changes.
Clearly this one is from a few weeks ago. I hadn't gotten to photograph one shedding his velvet before. The other two that were with this guy hadn't even started yet.
What can I say? Let the people who look at this draw their own conclusions and make their comments. I spotted this while at the cemetery where my father-in-law is buried in Kent, Ohio.

This old vessel is, after many years at sea, moored in the inner harbor of Tromsø, Norway. It now serves as a restaurant.
I see lots of birds when the tide is high at Fairhaven, Knot, Grey Plover, Curlews, Dunlin and a load more besides to far away for me to photograph but great to see. I am after shots of the Linnets and Stonechats but they are proving difficult at the moment hopefully my luck will change.

At each end of the year the geese spend some time here preparing or recovering from their long migration flights. It starts with just a few pairs and ends up with beautiful squadrons in formations almost from horizon to horizon. Taken just after sunrise the early golden light was illuminating the birds from below which created a nice tone.
A pair of Norfolk Southern 4-axle EMDs roll an eastbound underneath the now-removed NYC signals at CP 505 a few years ago. NS GP40-2 3067 used to zip through here in charge of Conrail Van trains as the 3399.
The old speedster has been displaced on the hot trains by newer stuff, but even downgraded, the GP40-2 was still looking good.
