CN plow extra 3569 east makes quick work of drifting snow as it finishes its work in Chandler. Once home to a large paper mill that was an online customer, the Chandler mill is gone, as is much of the traffic on CN's former Gaspe Bay line.

In 1920, Chandler had a line of six cars, ranging from $1995 to $3595.[citation needed] This grew to 10 by 1922, ranging from $1495 to $2375.[citation needed] Like many other medium-price carmakers, in the middle 1920s Chandler introduced a lower-priced "companion car" called the Cleveland. In 1924, they introduced the "Traffic Transmission," a constant-mesh gearbox that reduced the need for extra clutching when downshifting. This was several years before General Motors offered the "Synchro-Mesh" transmission, which allowed the driver to shift into first gear while moving forward at low speeds.
Chandler's peak year was 1927, when they sold 20,000 cars. Hopes for continued growth of the market led to overexpansion by the company the following year, which finished 1928 over half a million dollars in debt.
In 1929, Chandler Motor Company was purchased by its expanding competitor Hupp Motor Car Company for its factory and manufacturing facilities, and the brand was discontinued.
Chandler, like most cars built before all-steel bodies became the industry standard in the mid-1930s, used bodies built with a metal skin around a wooden frame (an "armored wood" frame).[1] Due to the use of fabric roofs, after a few decades the wood tended to rot; because of this Chandlers have survived in smaller numbers than some other popular automobiles of the era that used all-steel bodies.
Taken on the day of delivery, Chandlers Coach Travel Mercedes Tourismo CT68 CCT is seen outside the depot. There was no rest for the new vehicle as the next day it worked a private hire to the Royal Albert Hall.

Such a fun girl to be around and to photograph. I had a blast taking pictures with her the other day.
A whopping 300* coach movements in 5 hours (07:45-12:45) kept the camera occupied this morning (Sat 17/05/2025) with the increased traffic on the M3 at Fleet being influenced by 5 cruise ships in Southampton, the FA Cup final, and increased weekend coach trips. Being fairly close to Heathrow, Windsor and Stonehenge meant some of that total were the same coaches returning but it was a very good haul nonetheless.
*Big shout out to the lovely lady who, when asked to guess how many coaches we'd seen in 5 hours, thought long and hard about it and then reckoned on 8 (eight). She was utterly gobsmacked!!
I visited Glastonbury on Wednesday 21st & Thursday 22nd June 2023 to capture some of the bus action transporting festival goers to the annual event. Of course, I was instantly attracted to the Bristol VRs and Olympians operated by Chepstow Classic Buses, but there were plenty of other interesting buses to photograph as well!
This was my third year at Glastonbury and it again proved to be a brilliant day out! This year I attended on the Wednesday to capture the very varied bus scene.

Visit to the June 13, 2015 Cleveland All-Stars car show at Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio (a suburb of Cleveland). This show featured cars built in northeast Ohio, and a nice variety of examples was on display.

Chandlers Coaches Mercedes Benz tri-axle Tourismo stands proud in Tewkesbury on 2nd May 2019. CT68CCT i believe is the replacement for the tri-axle MAN Powered VanHool tx16 Alicron CT63CCT which has since passed to Harris Coaches of Bromsgrove.
This looks a very classy vehicle though.
