Born Albert Chandler in Hendersonville, Ky, Happy would go on to be one of Kentucky's all time favorite sons. When his mother abandoned him and his family, he was forced to work to help make ends meet for him, his father, and siblings. He would begin by selling newspapers at the age of 8. Eventhough his father raised him, he would go against his fathers wishes and attend Transylvania University in Lexington, Ky to study law. There he would be a 3 sport athlete by being named captain for the baseball and basketball team, and being a quarterback for the football team. After graduating, he would be excepted to Harvard Law but would soon return to Kentucky and receive his law degree from the University of Kentucky. After college, he coached high school sports while still practicing law in Versailles, Ky. This is where he found politis. He would run for governor and win in 1935 becoming the 44th Governor of Kentucky. He would be known as Boy Governor because he was only 37 years old at that time. He would serve out his term where he would run and win a seat on the US Senate. In 1944, Happy took a different career change. Baseball Commissioner Landis dies and a friend of Happy nominates him to be the new commissioner. Chandler had never played baseball after college but still had the love for the game and would be a unanamous selection by the teams owners. As commissioner, Chandler would do the most significant thing for baseball, but would also force him out of baseball. In 1947, the baseball owners voted 15-1 against intergrating baseball. Happy Chandler went against the vote and allowed the Brooklyn Dodgers to sign Jackie Robinson. This would make alot of people in baseball mad an Chandler would noy be elected to a second term as commissioner. After baseball, he would be elected to a second term as Kentucky Governor becoming also the 49th Governor. He would serve a full term and retire from politics but would find sports again. He could be seen on the sidelines of most Kentucky Wildcats football and basketball games where he would sing My Old Kentucky Home before many home games. In 1982, Chandler would be elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame for his contributions to intergrading baseball. Chandler died of a heart attack in 1991 at his home in Versailes, Ky. He is buried at the Pisgah Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Versailes, Ky.

At this point, after restoring each piece, I got out an old Mac laptop and put all my photos from disassembly. I used it to assemble the newly restored pieces in the reverse order. It worked. Digital photos save the day, again.

Although one cannot empathize exactly with the issue of old age, some studies have revealed that most of the age related problems are due to stress and insecurity in old people. And this is where care homes make a difference in their approach and methods. For more details log on www.brendoncare.org.uk/
