#JournalEntry : Before I was born, my mother backpacked across Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. I am grateful to her for instilling in me the desire to open doors, to follow the creek upstream, to turn down windy roads that take too long, to throw pebbles in the river, to value wisdom and experience over conventional - assembly line society. She has taught me a lot of lessons, but one of my favorites is the appreciation for inconvenient places. They do not charge for admission - the snow capped mountains, windy back roads in the country side or a farm house leaning on a hill. All these beautiful things and meandering hours.
I welcome you on my journey to 'Dev Bhoomi' Himachal Pradesh - Gods Own Land. In January and February of 2015 I backpacked across the state of Himachal Pradesh. It has been an eye opening experience. It combines two of my most favorite activities - Traveling and Photography!
I have shared excerpts from my Travel Journal for each image.

The Gandhi Bhawan is a major landmark of the city of Chandigarh, India, and a center dedicated to the study of the words and works of Mohandas K. Gandhi. It was designed by the architect Pierre Jeanneret, a cousin of Le Corbusier.
The photo above is a poor quality photo taken by me to draw your attention to these delightful photographs taken by Shubh Singh shown below.
The collection of familiar and well known features was possibly a mixture of structural necessity and artistic license to do justice to this much loved landmark of Chandigarh.
I love the frilly green fabric 'foundation' cover and the world famous plastic chair taking its rightful position as a lesson in the history of visual arts.

India is famous for its spicy food but there is one more fact..... South India is more famous for its variety of dishes. This is an example of that .We ordered 2 plates called thali ( Hindi Word ) for me and brother at South Indian Restaurant called Sangeetha in Dubai and they brought this....You wouldn't believe me....I sent back 4 bowls of dishes and one bowl of rice back.....as I don't like leaving food in plate .....to add to my surprise...I could repeat these dishes without paying anything extra.....The cost of this plate was 8 AED ( Approximately 96 Indian Rs and 2 US $ )
