I have not been putting my hands on my camera unless I am travelling, and I wanted to take up some challenge to bring myself back to daily photography. Well, this is the first in the photo-a-day challenge for May. Check out the challenge here www.fatmumslim.com.au/2012/04/may-photo-day-list.html

First day's theme is peace. This was a last minute upload, but there is nothing more peaceful than lying down with your feet up in the air listening to some soothing music, at the end of the day :)

Challenge: "75 sketches with pen in 75 days"

Maybe this will cure my fear of working without pencil+eraser....;)

These pictures were taken at Crooked Creek Golf Course in London, Kentucky. My son was there playing in a college golf tournament. The temps were in the mid 30s or lower, rain, shower, sprinkles, windy and super cold. He did not play well at all.

This is my son's golf bag sitting by the practice green on the first day of the tournament.

In the early hours of the morning (Tuesday 9 January), four warrants were executed at addresses across Stockport and Greater Manchester , as part of ongoing work to tackle organised crime in the area.

Stockport’s Challenger team made four arrests this morning, including a 41-year-old man on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs, money laundering, possession of psychoactive substance with intent to supply, a 38-year-old woman on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A and B, money laundering, possession of psychoactive substance with intent to supply, a 47-year-old woman on suspicion of abstracting electricity and possession of cannabis and a 52-year-old man on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs, money laundering and possession of offensive weapons. They all remain in police custody for questioning.

Following a search of the addresses, police also recovered a large amount of cash believed to be over £40,000, a large quantity of white powder believed to be cocaine, large quantity of vacuum packed cannabis, over 30,000 nitrous oxide cannisters, six Brietling watches and two Rolex watches.

DS Lee Attenborough from GMP Stockport Challenger team said: “These arrests are part of the proactive work we do across Stockport to ensure we tackle drug dealing in our communities and target the associated criminality and vulnerability that goes hand in hand with the drugs trade.

“The team have seized a significant amount of drugs this morning which would have undoubtedly caused serious harm in our community had the product made its way onto our streets.

“With the support of our community, and collaborative efforts from across GMP and the local authority, our organised crime team are relentless in pursuing those involved in drug dealing and serious crime across Manchester, and I would ask anyone who has information about this kind of activity comes forward so action can be taken.”

Anyone with concerns about drug dealing in their area can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, call GMP on 101 or contact us via our live chat function online. Always contact 999 if a crime is in progress.

For the November challenge I focused on a select few of the colors in the painting-The Fairy Fellers' Master Stroke. I used wood beads, faceted chalcedony and sterling silver. The ceramic beads and enamel charm were both made by me.

As she considers herself the most sexy Pullip around, and even more so with her new wig, Wendy challenged Padmé to a competition: Who can pull off the sexiest act?

Summer decided to join the fun, and all three girls picked two outfits to be photographed in!

Teaching martial arts does not mean that I am not a student. In fact it means I am more of a student. If I am going to be teaching this I need to constantly be improving and doing what I teach.

Too many times I see instructors turn into teachers and forget why they started martial arts in the first place. Some forgetting why they started teaching.

Getting out of shape and getting stuck in a rut. Not being all they could be. We all know that a rut is just a grave with the ends kicked out.

We have all been there. Any instructor, I have ever talked to has had a time where they forgot how to be a student. You never stop being a student. If I have learned one thing from my kung fu training, it is that I am just a student with a little more time in the art than my fellow students. And that I will be a student forever and I have the privilege of being able to teach.

Debbie and I have birthdays one week apart. This year we celebrated together with a trip to The Flume, but each chose pictures from another moment in the week for this challenge! Debbie's is the view from Gibbets Hill Grill during her birthday dinner with her husband. Mine is the field of sunflowers where we stopped for lunch during my 10th Annual Birthday Week Paddle on the Connecticut River. It is part of Cedar Circle Farm in Thetford, VT.
