For my husband's birthday -not my idea I'm afraid -I've seen something similar before but can't remember where. I don't have time to do much decorating for his cake this week because of orders ...much easier to smash one up instead!! (It had to be green since it's the colour of his fave footie team Panathinaikos)

These trees were planted to commemorate the fallen in WW1. However they became dangerous and the council made the decision to have them cut down and the remaining trunks to be carved into images to maintain their original purpose.
If anyone knows who she is please let me know and I will credit.

Found this really great place today, where for a gold coin donation we could drive through a property featuring art all done with a chainsaw !

Chainsaw in the head from around 2002. This was a deliberate revisitation of the good old days of horrible goofy violent art. Ink and acrylic.
I unearth this antique chainsaw while going through some old boxes at my mom's house. I trace this contraption back to a distance Swedish relative, Uncle Sven Lockwasher, who operated a small självständig repair shop round the turn of the century. From what I can see it looks like Sven started with a house hold hack'n'saw to which he fitted 2.5 horse power 2 stroke engine originally designed to power WWII spy drones.
The"spring-drive" mechanism is made up of old lamp and clock parts. The chain was taken from an old militärcykel (Military bicycle)...can't wait to try it out!

Campbell Town’s home-grown chainsaw sculptor, Eddie Freeman, created a series of macrocarpa pine memorials to the town’s rich heritage. The sculptures capture some of the essence of the natural and human history of Campbell Town in these finely detail carvings in the trunks and limbs of the 80 year old trees. The sculptures are in Blackburn Park besidethe Red Bridge
Don't worry...only a practical Halloween joke! It was a great session with 20 women, for an advertising campaign. I was the only man. We had a party afterwards.

2012 has been very good to me in terms of my life and my new passion for photography. If I went back a year in time and saw this picture I probably wouldn't believe that I took it. Every time I pick up my camera I learn something new. I can only hope that 2013 is as good as if not better than 2012.
The best way to get models for a shoot is to tell them it will take a lot less time then it will actually take... Told my sister it would only take 5-10 minutes. Probably took 10 minutes just to find the tree I wanted her to hide behind. :) Her fiance is the Psycho with the Chainsaw.
