Today my cousin took a degree in Physiotherapy (I'm so proud of you, Steve!)

So I was just thinking about the fact that I have 2 more years to graduate in Architecture and actually I don't even know if I would like it to be my job. Actually my present dream is becoming a traveling photographer.

Maybe this will never come true, maybe it will remain a "chained dream". But I don't want it to be like this. I would like to have the courage to break this chain...

Happy Bokeh Wednesday, my Flickr Friends and.... view on Black!

Walk away slowly

You don’t have to take this

In the spaces in between

Sadness on the faces

I could see the chains of love

The chains

Talking about the chains of love

Can’t take us away

Storms are brewing in your heart

I don’t want to waste it

Better to have tried it all

Least we got to taste it

- Ryan Adams (No, it is not Bryan)

I've made some real big mistakes

But you make the worst one look fine

I should've known it was strange

You only come out at night

I used to think I was smart

But you've made me look so naive

The way you sold me for parts

As you sunk your teeth into me, oh

Bloodsucker, famefucker

Bleedin' me dry, like a goddamn vampire.

If you are a fan of my work, I would really appreciate it if you would "like" my page on facebook at: Josh Sommers Art. Thank you!

My friend Devon putts with great power and precision. :)

Disc golf is one of the fastest growing sports in the world right now. As golf courses worldwide close down for lack of patronage, disc golf courses are popping up everywhere. While ball golf courses require clear-cut swaths of land, constant watering, fertilizing and maintenance, disc golf course are inexpensive to build, require minimal modifications to the environment, minimal maintenance and can be built almost anywhere. Where golf is often viewed as an elitist activity for it's expensive equipment, fancy golf clubs and wealthy, snooty patrons, disc golf equipment is inexpensive, the courses are by and large free, or nearly free to play, and as many will attest, is equally as fun and challenging as ball golf.

Photoshop:

No chains were harmed in the making of this image. Though Devon has a very solid putt, it doesn't usually break chains. To create the broken chain illusion, I isolated the chains from the background, removed the original chains, and then rebuilt them from pieces of the original chains in this configuration. I used a little motion blur on the broken chains. I hand painted in the little swish, just to emphasize that the disc came from Devon's hand.

A view of a portion of the chain lakes created from north Idaho's Coeur d'Alene river.

Nine lakes are formed along it's length before the river flows into Lake Coeur d'Alene.

Fabulous area for boating, fishing, kayaking, bird watching, etc.

There is also a 72 mile bike trail (Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes) thru the area.

This is the section between Swan and Black Lakes.

Mighty green in the spring. Not bad in the autumn either.

Have a wonderfull Wednesday!

If a nation values anything more than freedom, it will lose its freedom;

and the irony of it is that if it is comfort or money it values more, it

will lose that, too.

Listen to the wind blow, watch the sun rise

Run in the shadows, damn your love, damn your lies

And if, you don't love me now

You will never love me again

I can still hear you saying

You would never break the chain (Never break the chain)

And if, you don't love me now

You will never love me again

I can still hear you saying

You would never break the chain (Never break the chain)

Listen to the wind blow down comes the night

Running in the shadows damn your love, damn your lies

Break the silence, damn the dark, damn the light

And if, you don't love me now

You will never love me again

I can still hear you saying

You would never break the chain (Never break the chain)

And if, you don't love me now

You will never love me again

Yay, I'm a processing junkie.

First beach day of the year! Such amazing weather so early in the season. Busted out the chain side suit to start things off. Rotated for better sun, and of course, to give her a nice view.

The 1952-built chain ferry (Fleming & Ferguson, Paisley) is docking at the Renfrew side of the Clyde from Yoker in 1966. The first car off the ramp is a Warwickshire-registered Rover P4.

The chain ferry ran until 1984, replaced by two passenger-only boats.

Scanned from a 35mm size negative in my collection.

the negative for this was almost invisibly thin - managed to save a fair amount in the scan though
