My first attempt at HDR, combining four images with different exposures using Photoshop Elements. Three of the images were of the empty covered bridge, and the fourth contained this cycle rider as he was returning from escorting another rider over to the other side as seen in comments.
Much, much, much better in lightbox. Please?
.
p.s. If you'd like a challenge, sign up for Round 23 of the Get Pushed group, where you are paired with another photographer to do a challenge. Much fun. Sign up here.
Headed out to try to get a few reasonable evening shots as it looked like a decent cell was likely to pass just to the west of Brisbane. It died just after I got set up, leaving only a few reasonable shots. This is probably the pick.
C & G's Trident LX03 OSC is pictured approaching Abbey College in Ramsey - the only non-Dews vehicle noted doing so on Monday afternoon this week.
It had previously been with Stagecoach in London.
Sometimes...it's the only option that available to us at the moment.

Captured this unusual sun halo at late dusk through high clouds.
I've been tagged many times and do very much appreciate the interest shown in my stream.
So when Angie (Trench Mouth) tagged me today, I've decided to do respond. By the way, if you haven't seen Angie's beautiful photostream, I urge you to do so.
My facts:
1) Getting into a teaching career was pure luck. I was the first of my family (of any of my relatives I know about) ever to go to university. The only one my family could afford had only one program - a major in education and minors in various things (mine was a double minor in physics and math).
2) Joined the Peace Corps in 1967 immediately after graduating because I was inspired by John F. Kennedy's challenge: "Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country." - It's true!!
3) Met my future wife Clara in Peace Corps training. We spent 10 hours a day for three months together in training. You can get to know a person very well in such a high pressure environment.
4) One reason I fell in love with Clara (besides her gorgeous eyes and smile) is because I have never met anyone with as pure and as sweet a spirit as her's. This is still true!
5) Turned out that teaching and I just fit together very well. I was able to positively touch so many lives, and my students made me a better person as well. Turned out so well that I spent the last 10 years before retirement teaching teachers how to teach.
6) We never had pets when I was growing up - our apartments were way too small. Clara always had pets. So ours was a mixed marriage. One of us had to convert - I did and am now a dog person too. Our pup Sheila is just the best pooch we ever had.
7) I am active in a charity group called the Society of St Vincent DePaul (Never heard of us? we are world wide and have 58,000 active members just in the USA .) Locally in my town we helped over 3,600 people last year. $60,000 came in as donations and $60,000 went our to help the needy. All our overhead costs locally were donated by Vincentians ourselves.
8) For a number of years I was a fast pitch softball umpire. That was so much fun.
9) Had to quit due a heart condition - that wasn't fun.
10) Have loved photography for many years. Only since retirement can I spend the necessary time on this artistic pursuit. (Also, getting so much joy from all your work.)
p.s. I tried adding more of my wonderful contacts to this, but it wouldn't let me. :-(

Clara's family says "Meanwhile, back at the ranch..."
What phrase do or did you use with your brother / sister to get them moving faster? Remember, this is a Family-safe rated site. :-)
Lightbox please.
Lightbox please - you won't be disappointed.
Have you ever noticed that some prairie grasses have just a tiny magenta tint to the seeds?

Went for a walk with Clara and our pup Sheila around the pond. At dusk this time of year, the place just caresses our souls.
More to come in the days ahead.
