Q: How long did you work on achieving the designation?
A: 4 1/2 Years
Q: What inspired you to pursue the designation?
A: I was inspired to pursue the designation because I wanted to continue my education and become a professional. This was a goal of mine and one I wanted to show my kids.
Q: Do you feel the certification validates you?
A: Having this certification certainly provides my community and potential future employers with confidence in my skills within my field.
Q: Does your employer value you as the expert in your field since you've received your certification?
A: Yes, my employer has demonstrated their confidence and shown me how proud they are that I have achieved this goal.
Q: Did you receive any special recognition from your municipality for achieving this certification and if so, what ?
A: The Town Commission at their September 8, 2015 meeting offered their congratulations. FACC President Elect Chevelle D. Nubin, MMC from the City of Delray Beach presented me with the plaque and pin. An article will also be published in the local newspaper.
Q: What would you say to encourage others to pursue the CMC or MMC designation?
A: Don't give up! Keep attending the Academies and Conferences to obtain your CMC or MMC designation. It is a great accomplishment!
Q: How was your experience with the certification application process itself?
A: No problems at all.
Q: Was the IIMC Education Department helpful to you during your certification journey?
A: Yes, they always answered my questions and concerns.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., -- Lovena Epaloose receives a Certificate of Appreciation from District Commander LTC Patrick Dagon, Dec. 17, 2014. The District and the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) had Interagency Agreements (IA) totaling $336 million in projects where the work had been completed years ago. However, the expired IAs in the amount of $9 million was not closed out properly, leaving open accounts in both the BIA and District financial databases. Epaloose, a program analyst with the BIA, performed labor-intensive research and was successfully able to reconcile years of billings and obligation documents and make the necessary adjustments to close out the over-aged work items in both accounting databases. Through Ms. Epaloose’s hard work and tenacity, all expired IAs were closed out and the District returned the excess funding to BIA in September 2014. Photo by Elizabeth Lockyear.

She was born 6/18/1883 in NY to John Marr [born in Germany] and Catherine Rheinhard [born in NY].
She died 2/1/1914 while pregnant with her 7th child, while living in Corona, NY with her husband, Henry Seiter.
She had a sister, Elizabeth Marr [Beresheim].
