2015 Weekly Alphabet Challenge, Week 8, H is for Heavenly
Combi of two pictures I took today, sky with a heart shaped cloud and our Chinese dragon bowl with the two herald angels and the Atlas figurine which belonged to my grandmother's clock. They rest in that bowl usually and all including the dragon are celestial bodies of a kind, see the clouds on the bowl.
Perwinkle microflakes and red shimmer in a tango pink jelly base. Four thin coats.

So on New Year's eve, a meeting was held amongst planets. In attendance were the planets Mercury, Venus, Earth (:P) and Jupiter. Mars boycotted. Or was he taking a leak?
Also can be seen is Earth's satellite Moon in the background!
Jupiter and Mercury were just about to set then. Thus, they are above the rooftop!
This pretty little apron is my newest apron! It is a bright blue with lots of beautiful stars and moon crescents patterned on the fabric.
Taken at the old landfill south of Bonnybridge. I'm not too sure about this one. I think I have over cooked the torch painting of the concrete wall. Also, I had intended to crop out the glow from Denny. However, I hate light pollution and I think leaving it in illustrates my point.
Sad how millions of people are unaware of the beauty of the heavens. We must do more to cut the light that is destroying our appreciation of a wondrous heavens.
If you view the image large you can see two jet trails in the lower half of the photograph.
One of my main motivations for getting an ultra-wide lens was to capture the celestial equator (where stars appear to move in a straight line). It's visible here, but not very obvious. Notice that the stars on the left of frame bend one way, and on the right side bend the other. Somewhere in the middle is the equator.

"Celestial Terra Memories" is my first complete timelapse film. the whole video is filmed in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace and it is just the beginning of a project devoted to this area! Purpose of this, is to highlight the natural beauty of this place with scenes inspired from daily views and also hidden scapes. So that, playing with time and light, to see another version of reality.

Jewelry-making is my new obsession! Learning some new things with this. The leftmost hanging on the pendant is a wire-wrapped marble. And I'm still trying to get good at making those wire spirals.

This photograph is from early light painting efforts. I swung Christmas lights around in every direction on my driveway to make an globe shape. This orb is meant to visualize a planetary or celestial body to remind people of the ever infinite universe around them. The purpose of this photo is to make the extreme unknown of our universe more tangible and perceptible.

Old-timers will recall the hullabaloo over the reentry of SkyLab into the Earth's atmosphere in July, 1979. I think it was scheduled for reentry on July 9 (today), though it actually happened a couple of days later
My grandma was in her place near Guntur and joked with her friends that it would fall on them. She died the next day (on Guru Purnima, Monday 9th July 1979)
I can still see my Mom crying in a chair at the end of the hall, when we got back from play that evening
My grandma was some lady. She used to test for her blood-sugar levels with a very involved process. Heat a test-tube along with some solution, put the drops of blood in it, and do some sort of litmus test. Can't imagine doing any of that now; the mind balks at a 5-second test! Anyway, she was one tough cookie
Some years later, my Mom told me a very unusual thing. When my grandpa died sometime in the early 1960s, my grandma saw a celestial chariot waiting outside the house
My grandpa did a yajna in those days. There are quite a few who say that the general well-being of his descendants is due to his austerities. What can one say, except that i was named after him
I wouldn't have believed that celestial chariot bit if i hadn't read about it in other contexts
In the mid-1930s, the impending Second World War was announced to Edgar Cayce by a divine being in a celestial chariot
This year, i read a detailed account of one arriving to take away the soul of Balaram Basu, a very humble devotee of Sri Ramakrishna.
Swami Shivananda narrates: (How to Live with God, pages 78-79)
| At the last moment, we were seated around him, while his wife, stricken with unspeakable grief, was in the inner apartment with Golap-ma, Yogin-ma, and others. Just then she noticed something like a piece of black cloud in the sky, which became denser by stages and began to descend. Soon it assumed the shape of a chariot and alighted on the roof of Balaram Basu's house. The Master came out of that chariot and proceeded towards the room where Balaram Babu lay. Soon after, he issued forth, taking Balaram Babu by the hand, and entered the chariot again, which then ascended and vanished in the sky. This vision raised her mind to a very high plane where there could be no touch of grief or sorrow. When she returned to normal she related this to Golap-ma, who came to apprise us of the fact. Balaram Babu had passed away just a little while before

90 mins of stacked star trails showing the celestial equator & saturated to show the colours normally invisable to the naked eye. It was taken on a very dark night with no moon.
Sandwiched with the Shephard's Lookout photographed & lightpainted recently when the moon was a bit too bright for good trails.
