Here is a piece I made from a broken star ornament, which was broken in the center, I continued to open that center up, stuffed with aqua blue party paper shreds, painted vintage ballerina, Dresden Wings (Art Chix Studio), Pale blue tulle, which I hand speckled with Tiara Stickles (Ranger), my homemade Mica Flakes, crochette pearl flowers, sequin trim, glitters, broken pearly/crystal jewelry and champaigne color ribbon!

I call this piece The Celestial Soiree!

at that time of the afternoon the shadow from the building across the street aligned between the windows of the Alpine Museum to mimic the pyramidal shape of the mural decoration. In Pontresina, canton of Graubunden, Engadine, Switzerland.

Been on a blue kick lately!

By Donald Gialanella, made up of scrap auto transmission parts. A new installation at the Florida Botanical Gardens, one of three by the artist.

I went outside to water the roses this afternoon, and saw this most amazing sky - had to run back into the house to get the camera. The houses blocking my view really made me wish I had a higher vantage point. Only photography could inspire me to conquer my fear of heights...

Location: The Forbidden City (紫禁城 / 故宫) Beijing, China (北京, 中国)

I love skies, especially dramatic ones, I can just sit there and dream away in them, I hear music with it, a great joy in my life.

And especially in late summer and early autumn, you get drama in the sky!

Have a great day and thank you for your time, Magda, (*_*)

Resembling the puffs of smoke and sparks from a summer fireworksdisplay in this image from NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope, these delicate filaments are actually sheets of debris from a stellar explosion in a neighboring galaxy. Hubble's target was a supernova remnant within the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC), a nearby, small companion galaxy to the Milky Way visible from the southern hemisphere.

Denoted N 49, or DEM L 190, this remnant is from a massive star that died in a supernova blast whose light would have reached Earth thousands of years ago. This filamentary material will eventually be recycled into building new generations of stars in the LMC. Our own Sun and planets are constructed from similar debris of supernovae that exploded in the Milky Way billions of years ago.

We had a very mild winter here in the Pacific Northwest. Here is one of the last of my winter roses. Pruning will begin soon.
