This past Saturday, February 6, the Moon danced in a triangle with it's cousins, Venus and Mercury at sunrise.
Venus is the bright object on the right side of the image. Mercury is the faint dot of light in the clouds directly below the moon, making a pretty celestial triangle.
The only thing missing is a working beacon in the lighthouse. But you can't have everything.
As I was busy deleting files, I ran across this image of the moon that I took in October. Just for fun I did a 20 second exposure and that is why the stars looks like little streaks in the darkened sky. What I didn't notice, were the colorful rings surrounding the moon. All I did to this image was to crop it slightly. Everything else is as it came from the camera. So to all of you astronomers out there - what in the devil are those rings?
Celestial Park 5501 Celestial Road
This quiet, 4-acre neighborhood park on the north side of Celestial Road at Bellbrook Drive is a good spot to sit and reflect on the beautiful surroundings. It features a jogging trail, steps with celestial quotations and poetry leading up to a human sundial, park benches, plant identification throughout the park, and pet waste dispensers. Stand on the appropriate month-engraved stone in the middle of the sundial and your shadow will be cast onto the appropriate time-engraved stone (not allowing for Daylight Savings Time.) On-street parking is available on Celestial Road in front of the Addison Pump Station.
My newest "Celestial Fireworks" oil on canvas, 36 x 36 inches. February 2016. I turned the original Hubble image upside down so the nebula looks like it is spitting out stars. $4000

Andrew Geoghegan 18ct Yellow Gold Celestial ring with 7ct Rutile and 14 point brilliant cut diamonds colour FG clarity VVS. Impact, impact and impact! The Celestial is the jaw dropper of the AG collection. Each stone is visibly unique making each ring individual. This noticeable departure from bridal jewellery is being welcomed by retailers and customers alike.
This lady turned around the corner as I was taking the photo of the shop front. As with all street scenes people make them so much more interesting.
