I heard a sound.
This one looks a bit weird... like my eye has no iris/pupil because of the contrast and the fact that i was looking to the side, wide-eyed. i still like it.
look inside: you can see some of the mods I made: NOS mod, the reed relais for mute function were soldered out becaus one was broken. No probs with this.
A picture from my brief time with a Resolution Audio Opus 21. Despite its reputation, I just didn't get on with it. Too bland, sterile and thin sounding in my opinion. A shame as it does look good!

BACKSTORY: The mother-of-all-Freecycle hauls. $2000 worth of audio equpiment. $600/ea MSRP Polk Audio RTi100 speakers. $450 MSRP Polk Audio cs400i center speaker. Replacement Onkyo TX-SV545 amp to use downstairs in place of my broken $1000 (grrr) 1997 amp. Was the guy getting divorced and not wanting to share his stuff or something? Or maybe he didn't like that the subs buzzed (so turn them off!). Dunno. I do know that I responded to the posting within 2 minutes of it going up. You gotta jump on stuff like this.
The valve amp's at the front- this is about a 10 year old model. You can just make out some of the silver speaker wire on the right- think they said this is £400 a metre.
That black box with the blue display's the CD player on the right- That cover on the top opens and the CD is placed down inside it. its DAC is beneath it.
The DAC alone is £10,000.
While I was browsing through the electronics section at Goodwill this past weekend, I came across this portable CD player. This CD player looks like it was made in the late 80's, and I was amazed to find one that old still around today. This was also the first time that I've actually seen a square-shaped portable CD player. Up until now, I've always seen circular-shaped portable CD players. If I didn't already have a portable CD player, I would've most likely bought this one as soon as I first saw it.
A sign of the times... I've just given away the CD player I bought over fifteen years ago because I no longer play CDs.

For these Images I took parts from Stephen Kings book Cell and made them into an image.
From Stephen King's Cell:

Yes he could see the red power lamps of the boom boxes circling the field. Each one surrounded with bodies.
"I think they're rebooting" he said.

the die set made 3 descent looking stamps for the air bag switches to go. an original dash knob over the new air bag toggle switch helps make it look the part
I was very brave this morning, and did painting at Toddler Group! We had coveralls for the kids, and a groundsheet on the floor under the tables and chairs, so everything was washable, and it went OK. Some fun hand-painting happened as well.
It was a showery day - I got wet socks on the way to Toddlers, so took them off and was fine. I cycled over to the shop for my shift in the afternoon - my hi-viz coat is great in the wet as well as the dark.
