Was a little bored as Toni was busy in the kitchen making homemade lasagna as we are having company for dinner tonight..cold and very windy here with winds up to 45 MPH so set the camera up and all went well until wind knocked it over...unfornuetly when I was done doing that she did find some things for me to do to help get things ready...

Bought a new Asus VS229H-P monitor to use with my 2 yr old HP DV6-1350US Laptop and added a Logitech Z305 clip on USB powered speaker...as I get older and we all do the 15.6" laptop screen just wasn't cutting it..the Asus is only 21.5" and does not take up a lot of territory on my desk and it has infinite settings for both video and picture editing plus surfing the web...

Found this in with some of my dad's stuff in a shoe box as he served in WW II and scanned it..assune the "General" had to much coffee or whatever and made a deposit in the Rhine River..how appropriate..

Just some random pics I took around 8:45 PM to test the Hand-Held Twilight setting on my new camera..only lighting source being from three of those energy saver bulbs in the front porch overhead light and one each lamp light in the den on the right and quest bedroom on the left..only post editing done was to straighten pictures and then direct upload to Flickr using the Sony PMB software...

Grunge Surreal..some of the first photos I have taken using the not so user friendly burst mode on this camera..my DSC-HX100V is fantastic for this..but this fits in my shirt or jeans pocket..otherwise great camera

Spent a relaxing day in Philly and joined a friend for lunch on the Sq and there was this gentleman playing his flute..not sure if I should call him a flutist or flautist..he was pretty good..was a cool windy day but had a great time

Once in a great while I get hungry for SOS (shit on a shingle) homemade but nobody makes like a certain mess Sargent we had in Viet Nam..dam it was good but in those days washed it down with black coffee..little older now a cold glass of OJ or bottle of Mtn Dew will do the job (Philly style) but a cold Mike's original isn't so bad either..but whatever your choice drink responsibly

Just some pictures I took yesterday after Hurricane Sandy as thought we were lucky and bit the bullet as still had power and have yet to get to use the portable generator I bought this past summer but time will come as still have winter to get through. Had just a bunch of leaves and couple of small dead limbs down...no missing shingles or aluminum siding as I had feared..just a loose down spout from one of the rain gutters that was easily repaired.

But as daylight broke could here the noise of chain saws and I though how rude to reawaken me after I had spent about 15 minutes out in all the mess looking for my morning Philadelphia Inquirer so after about a half hour of trying to get back to sleep my curiosity got the best of me and got dressed and ventured out one more time to see what the hell was going on...by now it was daylight and I could see just how lucky I was...as within a block each direction of my home neighbors had trees down..shingles missing and solar panels nearly ripped from their roofs..worst was four doors down from me as they had a 40' tree from neighbors yard come crashing through the fence and land in their backyard with only slight damage to roof and rain gutter...but with all that has happened in Northern New Jersey and the Jersey shore (Atlantic City & LBI) then New York and with millions without power me and our development was truly lucky...
