Nothing spectacular as bought a new HX100V to replace my TM700 video camera as takes great pics and video..the TM700 took fantastic video but pics were sub par in "my" opinion..playing around with it now as wanting to master all the manual adjustments as trying to schedule a 4-6 week trip to the UK...this video was shot in standard video mode with no enhancements or post edit adjustments...my backyard on a cloudy and foggy morning but at least no rain for now...UGH...You can also view it in 1080 HD on You Tube...tag: Fbi039

Florence Township NJ Emergency Medical Squad #4081 filling in for Mansfield Squad 3300 as an elderly neighbor apparently had a fainting spell per her husband and fell and hit her head and had to be transported to the hospitol..we are fortunate to have our own local great squad but also the guys and gals from Florence to back us up if they are unavailable..both units do a great job and the Florence group a couple of times a year has a Hoagie sale to help raise funds and they are "good"

Was out and about on 12/04/2013 after my Doctors appointment and not feeling all that great and just trying to get some exercise and fresh air before returning home and ran into the Commissioner and stopped to exchange greetings and asked if I could grab a picture of him and he graciously offered to pose with me...true Gentleman and an asset to our police force. I forgot to reset camera setting as still had on medium paint instead of portrait...

Two historic and well traveled warships which are designated National Naval Landmarks are berthed at Penn's Landing as part of the Independence Seaport Museum.

Quoting the Historic Naval Ships Association, "The oldest steel-hulled American warship afloat, the U.S.S. Olympia served as Commodore George Dewey's flagship during the Battle of Manila Bay on May 1, 1898. In that engagement, Spanish naval forces in the Philippines were handed a smashing defeat, securing the Philippines for the United States and embarking the nation on an expanded role as a major force in not only the Pacific, but also world affairs.

The cruiser was born out of a program of ships for the "New Navy" of the 1880s and 1890s designed to correct the deficiencies of a weakened and neglected naval force. This program was directly responsible for the rise of the steel shipbuilding industry of the United States. Olympia is the last remaining ship built during that program and the sole surviving naval combatant of the Spanish-American War."

The Olympia also served in World War I as the flagship of the United States Patrol Force, escorting allied vessels in the North Atlantic as well as along the east coast.

It was the Olympia that in 1921 was called upon to bring back the body of the Unknown Soldier from La Havre, France to its final resting place at Arlington National Cemetery.

Built at the Electric Boat Company in Groton, Connecticut, the SS Becuna was commissioned on May 27, 1944. She was designated to serve as submarine flagship of the Southwest Pacific Fleet under General Douglas MacArthur.

Again quoting the Historic Naval Ships Association, "An example of the standard fleet-type Balao class submarine of World War II, Becuna conducted five wartime patrols with the U.S. Seventh Fleet. Becuna sank the 7500 ton freighter Nichiyoku Maru, two small coastal freighters, assisted the Hawkbill with the sinking of the oiler Tokuwa Maru, and damaged another oiler."

The submarine also served as a lifeguard for downed pilots and narrowly missed an attack on the battleship Yamato.

Converted from her basic fleet boat configuration to a streamlined fast underwater submarine known as a GUPPY (Greater Underwater Propulsion Project) type 1A in 1951, Becuna served during the Korean War and Vietnam conflict in the Atlantic and Mediterranean.

The Becuna served the Navy continuously from 1944 to 1969 when she was decommissioned after a long and distinguished career.

Just some pictures I took yesterday after Hurricane Sandy as thought we were lucky and bit the bullet as still had power and have yet to get to use the portable generator I bought this past summer but time will come as still have winter to get through. Had just a bunch of leaves and couple of small dead limbs down...no missing shingles or aluminum siding as I had feared..just a loose down spout from one of the rain gutters that was easily repaired.

But as daylight broke could here the noise of chain saws and I though how rude to reawaken me after I had spent about 15 minutes out in all the mess looking for my morning Philadelphia Inquirer so after about a half hour of trying to get back to sleep my curiosity got the best of me and got dressed and ventured out one more time to see what the hell was going on...by now it was daylight and I could see just how lucky I was...as within a block each direction of my home neighbors had trees down..shingles missing and solar panels nearly ripped from their roofs..worst was four doors down from me as they had a 40' tree from neighbors yard come crashing through the fence and land in their backyard with only slight damage to roof and rain gutter...but with all that has happened in Northern New Jersey and the Jersey shore (Atlantic City & LBI) then New York and with millions without power me and our development was truly lucky...

Part #1 of video I shoot on 6/26/2010 at intersection of Jacksonville and Columbus Road as procession passed..have to breakdown 8 minutes of video into less than 90 second segments to work on Flicker

Once in a great while I get hungry for SOS (shit on a shingle) homemade but nobody makes like a certain mess Sargent we had in Viet Nam..dam it was good but in those days washed it down with black coffee..little older now a cold glass of OJ or bottle of Mtn Dew will do the job (Philly style) but a cold Mike's original isn't so bad either..but whatever your choice drink responsibly

02/11/08 was going out to get my mail when my neighbor directly across the street pulled out in his van and half way down our street hit a tree..ran down the street and did what I could..luckly I was on my cell so called 911 and stayed with him till the ambulance arrived and they got him out of the van..was shocked as several days later he passed due to complications..was a great neighbor..

Was a little bored as Toni was busy in the kitchen making homemade lasagna as we are having company for dinner tonight..cold and very windy here with winds up to 45 MPH so set the camera up and all went well until wind knocked it over...unfornuetly when I was done doing that she did find some things for me to do to help get things ready...

Lawn crew cutting my back yard for the first time this year on 4/14/2011 as spring is here and summer is not far behind..set camera up in sun room as had some errands to run...had to edit to less than 90 seconds for Flicker and convert from AVCHD as they do not support that format..they did a pretty good job...

added this to my Chrysler 300C and OH what a difference ... makes an Ole guy fell young again ...

Holiday decor at new development in CC Philly.

Bought a new Asus VS229H-P monitor to use with my 2 yr old HP DV6-1350US Laptop and added a Logitech Z305 clip on USB powered speaker...as I get older and we all do the 15.6" laptop screen just wasn't cutting it..the Asus is only 21.5" and does not take up a lot of territory on my desk and it has infinite settings for both video and picture editing plus surfing the web...
