[An overgrown road in Pripryat, 3km from Chernobyl Nuclear Reactor] Twenty two years ago this was one of the main roads in the Nuclear City of Pripyat which had a population of 50 000. Sadly for the citizens of this new Soviet city, after Chernobyl Reactor Number 4 went into Nuclear meltdown they had to evacuate their homes in just 3 hours. Now, instead of the sound of children playing, only the gentle sound of contaminated nature slowly taking over this Ghost Town. What looks like dense woodland is actually the centre of a once thriving city. Caution! Children Crossing...

The heat around here is incredible. The only things to see are road signs for mile after mile, but nothing else.

A section of the shoreline on the north side of Ashbridges Bay Park has collapsed due to high water action, and there are fences and tape to warn of the danger. Today's wind made the tape flutter.
