Description: Barnard 150 (B150, LDN1082) dark nebula is a type of interstellar cloud that is so dense that it obscures the light from the background emission or reflection nebula or that it blocks out background stars. The extinction of the light is caused by interstellar dust grains located in the coldest, densest parts of larger molecular clouds. The form of such dark clouds is very irregular as they have no clearly defined outer boundaries and sometimes take on convoluted serpentine shapes. The largest dark nebulae are visible to the naked eye, appearing as dark patches against the brighter background of the Milky Way. In the inner regions of dark nebulae important events take place, such as the formation of stars and masers.
B150 is also known as the Seahorse Nebula. With a bit of imagination the dark nebula shown in the image above roughly outlines the shape of a seahorse with its head pointing downward as it floats in a sea of stars roughly 2 degrees wide in the northern sky. This young man was trying to draw both giraffes to himself, log enough for his co-worker to run into the habitat to collect a fecal sample.
The giraffes may have been distracted by the lettuce, but my attention was on his tattoos. Even his employer is spelled out in ink.
The cause? Humans....The effect? Drought and heat.
I know this is dark and not pretty but find it necessary to document what is happening in Central Texas...not just here but other places in the world too. Our desperate earth cannot heal unless we step up and do our part. This weighs heavy on my mind during most of my waking hours.

"SHADHINOTA is My Cause for the 40th Celebration of BANGLADESH Independence. The land, the mighty rivers and the natural beauty makes Bangladesh a land of unparalleled splendor and magnificence. Bangladesh was liberated after a prolonged war of Independence the declaration of which was given on 26th MARCH 1971. One of the worst genocides Genocide in history took place at the behest of an autocratic regime in the name of Political stability spearheaded by the then Pakistan President Yah ya Khan. After 9 months of Liberation water and the sacrifice of 3 million lives Victory came. In addition to the loss of lives countless others were rendered homeless, the infrastructure including roads and bridges and factories lay in ruins. The people of Bangladesh have shown time and again how resilient they are. After each and every disaster, natural or man-made the people have again stood up and started all over again from scratch.
My Effort here is to pay tribute to the valiant sons of the soil and the ‘die hard’ attitude of a people who can still smile in the face of adversity however great it may be. I plan to make a collage of images that represent the lives of the people of Bangladesh. Flynn causes confusion sometimes - I get asked fairly frequently "what kind of dog is that?". The most common guess is that's he's probably some kind of lurcher (sighthound/collie mix) - which I can understand but more than once, people have thought he's "part staffie"!! In a way, it surprises me when people are confused by his appearance because border collies are SO common in the UK.
Many pet BCs here are still working bred, or at least have recent ancestors who were farm dogs & they don't look much like the show type fluffy, classically marked b/w collies. They might have shorter fur, or odd markings & ears & tails vary too. I think with Flynn it's the fact he is both short haired and red tri - rather than the more traditional black & white that creates confusion. To me, he still looks like a fairly typical, leggy, smooth coated farm collie - the type that can be spotted riding happily on quad bikes out on the fields, or else barking at passers-by from behind farmyard gates up & down the country!
Funnily enough, we get far fewer questions about Flynn's breed when he's off lead & playing. He has strong herding instincts & spends most of his time circling me, stalking & staring intensely at his toy. He has the "collie eye" perfected. Most recognise the behaviour as classic border collie - even if he is a slightly funny colour ;-)
Another point that moderns do not grasp, is that there is no reason for necessarily seeking the cause of a phenomenon on the plane where it is produced, and that on the contrary one has to consider the possibility of a non-material cause, above all when it is a question of a phenomenon whose beginning is unknown a priori, and unknowable materially, as is the origin of living beings.

The divine Intellect contains the archetypes of creation, and it is starting from this Cause - or from this causal system - at a given cyclic "moment" of the cosmogonic process, that the "ideas" are "incarnated" which will be manifested in the form of contingent creatures.
We do not ask physicists to be content with an anthropomorphic and naive creationism; but at least it would be logical on their part - since they aim at a total and
flawless science - to try to understand the traditional ontocosmological doctrines, especially the Hindu doctrine of the envelopes (kosha) of the Self (Atma): a doctrine that, precisely, presents the Universe as a system of circles proceeding from the Center-Principle to that extreme limit which for us is matter.
For human science does not derive solely from the need to know and to register; more profoundly its origin is the thirst for the essential; now the sense of essentiality attracts us toward shores other than those of the limited plane of physical phenomena alone.

Just cause I love geeps on rickety track doing local work here is another look at this nice catch from my PA and MD trip last spring.
Previously relegated to working overnight under the cover of darkness, thanks to pandemic reduced train frequencies on Amtrak's Northeast Corridor for some time now NS local H04 has been working days. On duty at 0900 at Baltimore's Bayview Yard, they normally work to the big Clorox plant in Perryman daily and as far north as Havre de Grace at least once a week.
Here they are seen on the old line having just finished working Plastipak Industries they are getting their train back together so they can start back south. The old line is a 1 3/4 mile long stub of the old main line through town that lead to the original 1866 bridge. After the mainline was realigned slightly on the approach to the new and higher 1906 structure still in service the old line into town was retained and more than a century later it still has three rail served customers located on it.
NS 5620 is a GP38-2 that was rebuilt with a chopped nose in 2005 from a Southern high hood GP38AC oroginally blt. Aug. 1971 as CNOTP 2871.

A couple I know are going through a major transition. While talking to hubbie about it, I wished him good luck. He said, "this is not about luck. At this point it's all a matter of cause and effect." We left it at that.
Last weekend we had significant rainfall in Nevada City--over 10 inches. On Monday morning after the storm blew through, I opened the door to let the dogs out and was overwhelmed by the chirping of the frogs. All of a sudden, overnight, there were thousands of them, filling the air with their staccato songs. It gave me a moment of pause, and got me to thinking about that cause and effect thing. I think there may be a tad of wisdom in it.

Cause taking a picture is just a very good reason to know more about the world around me. I observe it and then a small piece of it is preserved in the form of light, colour and life. It's my own way to see what I want to really see.

a lot has happened in the last (almost exactly) 2 years. what i thought was a new beginning and a change to be made and to happen resulted in one of the worst years of my life. and when i say worst, i mean it. most of you witnessed portions of it thru my 365. and i'm grateful for the friendships that came out of that, especially when i just needed it - you know who you are. ♥
I first had months of anticipating positive change, months of being in a horrendous depression & not knowing what to do, and months of re-building. W/o the first two, I wouldn't have been able to get myself better, to know myself and what i know to be what's best for me.
I've never been more confident of knowing I will be able to handle what comes my way and never again, never - knowingly - put up with anyone's bullshit. My life just doesn't have time for that anymore, and honestly it never did.
While, I have moments of sadness b/c something triggers a bad moment, it doesn't dictate the rest of my day, nor define me, nor will I allow it to stand in the way of what other little things make my life awesome.
I wouldn't be able to give my dream a go and chase it, as I intend to now, w/o the whiplash I had last year. I wouldn't do over in the sense that I'd never want to feel what i felt again, but I am grateful that out of the bullshit came opportunity.
