Halfway through his "Cat Sitting" duty, Stormtrooper Bruce is pleased to report things are going as well as can be expected.
At least he still has all his fingers, and no trips to the Med Bay have been needed.
TK-432: Dude! How much longer do you have to watch that crazy cat?
TK-1110: Actually, he seems a lot calmer that the previous times you've had to watch him. Except, I'm not liking the look he's giving those pies. How far did you say he can leap?
STB: Guys, Vader said he'd be gone for two weeks, and it's only been one week. One very lo-o-o-o-ong week! Cujo hasn't changed! I'd forgotten about the 3AM zoomies, the constant "feed me" tricks he pulls by looking extra sweet, and the, um, how shall I say this...?
TK-432: The constant Poo Patrol? Yeah, you're kinda falling behind on that front.
TK-1110: About that ... eyesore - I was hoping you weren't messing with us, and that was our real dessert! We know how much you like your dessert impostor Kitty Litter Cake, but Halloween is still a few months away.
STB: Guys, Ciujo has to be treated with the utmost care, pampered and spoiled, just like Palpatine's nephew. I clean that box daily, I think he just 'makes room' so he can eat more treats.
TK-432: Now we know why Vader brought that humongous bag of litter! Cujo has Vader under his spell, too, eh? Whatcha bet Vader's 'secret mission' is to go find more cat treats! Special treats! A whole ship of nothing but the best for the P's nephew's cat.
STB: Guys, this is no laughing matter. Vader checks in with me daily, wanting to speak to Cujo, to make sure I'm taking good care of his widdie kiddy! You haven't lived until you've heard Vader talking baby talk to a cat! One more week of this ... I don't what you call this.
TK-11110: Hey, I know! Just think of it this way - these may be the Brownie Points you're looking for!

A macro picture of one of the kittens "teething rings".
I wasn't sure if I was going to use this photo for the Macro Monday's theme of "Mesh". I decided on a second picture.
Another picture of Archie, taken again using my Canon EOS 5DIV and the Super Takumar 135mm f3.5 at f3.5.
Although I didn’t nail critical focus, the photo does capture the moment and his personality (or purr-sonality... I know, I know 🙈😀) so I still really like it.
Just a second later he pounced towards the camera through his tunnel and far closer than the lenses minimum focus distance sadly.
A little bit of Easter crochet, ahead of schedule this year!
Catnip bunnies and carrots for a cat rescue group and the basket because I thought it would be cute for a photo!

Noah laying on his stick of Dynamite. This was as close as we could get to a "bomb". :)
This picture is for the group Happy Caturday and this week the theme is "Songs".
I remember when this song came out in 1982, we all loved it. I have to admit that when I looked it up on YouTube and saw one of the live videos I had to laugh. The costumes cracked me up. And then when my husband started imitating them I almost fell to the floor laughing.

I was experimenting with different fibres this week, and this guy is different... I love his exotic beauty - that may be colours or slightly translucent finish makes him so special :)
Finished up with these crochet daisy catnip toys earlier in the week and am just getting around to getting a photo of them before passing them to Mom for the cat rescue group she donates them to.
Pattern for the daisy is here. To make the catnip version, make two daisies and start stitching them together (I used a single crochet stitch), once you get to the last two petals start stuffing with fill and catnip, finish joining the rest of the petals, tie off and weave in your ends.
Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.

This would have been a photo of Daisy playing - if she hadn't rushed to hide under her arch as I took the photo. Typical!

From an experiment which I had been contemplating for a few weeks.
Cat. Cat toy. Camera. Remote shutter release cable. Burst mode (high).
If learning that what you did doesn't work, then I learned something that day.
My subject was supposed to be the cat Big Boi, whose toy this belongs. Monster came along and stole the show though.
You can read about the events that led up to and include this photograph here.
Sandy and her daughter Lyndsey gave Rena a bag full of little knock-around toys that she loves and I was given a wonderful little felt Benni, especially made from a photo by Sandy's granddaughter.
(2 and a half week company gone and now I need to catch up on everything here and then I'm back on Flickr and commenting. Sorry to post and run.)
I cleaned all of the cats' toys in preparation for our vacation (which did not happen). The mylar balls did not fare well with handwashing, so this is a brand-new mylar ball--just out of the package. (series of 8)
In memory of Onyx.
The resemblance to the coronavirus is just a coincidence. Or maybe just subconscious.
To get the lighting, I set my smart LED lamp to the lowest brightness level of blue. Anything else was too bright and made too faint a shadow. Apparently that made slight ultraviolet highlights, like a black light.
Is it strange that my cats couldn't have cared less about this little catnip mouse, while my dog was fascinated by the new toy she found lying on the floor?
Skye liked it :)

Crazy Tuesday - Soft - 09 Feb 2021.
Any resemblance to a real person or otherwise is purely coincidental!
One of our cat's many soft toys! 😄 😄 😄
My oldest sister once took a picture of one of her kitties playing in a discarded soda carton. So I wondered if our Frodo might like to check one out, too? Guess what? It's one of the best toys he's had to date. And the cheapest.
He has demolished this box like a crazy, possessed being with super destructive powers. The box has even been taped back up several times, hoping it'll last until we can empty out another box for him to play with. :-)
**It's now July and in just the six months since he's been with us he has transformed from a skiddish, hungry little stray who showed up one cold February day into a happy kitty who now loves to play with the bestest cat toys ever!
Pickles in her tunnel. It's one of her favorite spots to lounge and play, until her big brother chases her out of course.
This picture is for the group Macro Mondays and this week the theme is "Silhouette".
This is my first attempt at taking a silhouette picture. I read online that your subject should be something that can "hold a story" without color and still be distinguishable as a silhouette. I wish that I would have been able to have the bottom or sides of the duck visible. I'm assuming that I did not have a big enough light behind him??
The little rubber duck is about 2" long by 1 3/4" high.
Here is the little ducks story:
I originally bought this little pink rubber duck as a joke for my Mom. When I brought it home I set it on the kitchen island. I had planned on mailing it to my Mom a few days later.
I believe I was in the living room when I heard a commotion coming from the kitchen. I ran into the kitchen to see what was going on and found Joshua batting the little duck across the floor. When he looked up and saw me he picked it up and ran into the living room. I didn't have the heart to take it away from him.
The little duck became Joshua's favorite toy. He would walk through the house with this little pink duck in his mouth meowing as he went. It has his teeth marks all over it.
Joshua was one of my two Maine Coon cats. He passed away in Nov 2015 at the age of 10. The little duck now sits next to Joshua's picture.

I gave in and gave the boys one of their Christmas toys. Elijah is much more interested in playing with toys like this stuffingless squirrel than Noah. Elijah carries it all over the house.
This "squirrel" is just like the mouse.... except for the bushy tail. Here's a link to what it is:
