Happy Caturday group wants to see what hobbies our cats enjoy and I really think retrieving is highest on Rena's list. She is very sketchy in her retrieving, sometimes 8 or 9 quick retrieves and sometimes none or only one. But always these little springs.
Here she's deciding if she'd rather do something else, maybe bird watching or bopping Benni on the nose.
Photo taken for the "Macro Mondays" group theme "Keepsake". This is one of the toys that I gave my cat "Butterscotch" who passed away in 2021, I keep this on my shelf in my office.
Moments after I presented Jane's new bed to her she laid on it like this and didn't move for a few minutes. It looked like she was trying it out in the same sleeping position she and I use when we spoon together in the big bed.
She did throw her big pillow on the floor but the little ones did seem enjoyable to her.
Looking at all of her toys and her name on her bed, she is clearly not spoiled at all. =^)

For Macro Mondays 'Mesh' theme. This is one of the cat's toys - about the size of a hair curler and made from this plastic mesh. The cat loves playing football with it. Unfortunately, this means it gets lost quite frequently, inevitably under the sofa. But every time it's re-discovered the cat is super excited.
This is Drew Cat sitting on the new catnip pillows under construction. No catnip in them yet, but since he couldn’t sit next to the sewing machine, this was his second choice. :). #grassforcats Etsy.com/shop/DianeWillowDesigns. #classycatscatnip
I got Jane a new bed and while it is nice to curl up on for a nap, she seems worried about monsters under her bed. I think this is mostly because she enjoys putting toys under her bed so she can attack them. Which is nearly as cute as her laying in bed for a nap.

American hard rock band formed in California in 1985. Guns N' Roses' debut album, Appetite for Destruction (1987), reached number one on the Billboard 200 a year after its release, on the strength of the top 10 singles "Welcome to the Jungle", "Paradise City", and "Sweet Child o' Mine"

H😊oS !
Jane's new bed gets a lot of monsters under it. She knows this because she likes to slide toys under and then "discover" them later.

A well used cat toy - now abandoned for the real thing.
Mouse dramas kept me busy for the last couple of days ...

Taken for this weeks (8-Feb-2021) Macro Mondays "Vibrant Minimalism" theme.

Poor Butterscotch wasn't allowed play with them until I took a photo. (He didn't have to wait too long) I liked the colors and patterns.
This picture is for the group Happy Caturday and this week the theme is "Happy Cats".
Elijah is always happy when he has his squirrel to play with!
I'm posting an older picture.... again... I had a bad reaction to the medication used for the immunotherapy. It's been a very long and scary week. I don't think that there is anything more terrifying then when you can't get your breath. I was told that lung inflammation could happen with this treatment but we were hoping that it wouldn't. I'm unsure what happens now as far as treatment goes. It's rather worrisome to think that I will have to stop just when the cancer is responding so well.
I suppose that I better play with the boys as long as I'm able to. Both of the boys make me happy when they are playing with their toys and Elijah always makes me smile when he poses for picture. :)
This fabric "ball" on a string is Muse's favorite toy, but Jimmy is tasting it here. (That's Muse's head in the foreground.)
This picture is for the group Happy Caturday and this week the theme is "Meaning of Life".
For Elijah the meaning of life is his squirrel on a string. He absolutely loves this toy. He has several Skinneeez animals but this one is a favorite. This one is on a string which is attached to a stick. He loves to drag it through the house and always lays next to it on the floor.
I think that the meaning of life for cats is to make their people happy and to laugh, to show and receive love, to be there when we feel down.... simply, being a friend. =^..^=
After an enthusiastic introduction to the "shrimp" catnip toy, Jimmy decided he would keep it close by while he went back to napping. (see adjacent shot)
This is a double exposure of two macro photos, one of a spartan helmet key chain and the other of a plastic ball cat toy. The purple of the cat toy makes for a strange design because of the holes in the toy and I used the "darken" option in Digital Photo Professional.
Today is Jasmine's 16th birthday. She didn't get this toy for her birthday, it's an older one I pulled out of her toy basket that she never plays with. She would much rather have a wadded up paper ball.

I purchased this years ago for my cats to sharpen their claws on, but none have ever used it - HSoS!
This picture is for the group Happy Caturday and this week the theme is "Living With Cats".
Living with cats always provides smiles and laughs... especially when you really need them.
Nothing taste as good as a catnip banana! :)

For this week's Macro Mondays theme of 'phobia' I decided to photograph my cat Ebony's pet mouse, which you can see is well played with.
Although she is advancing in years now she still has the edge on the mice and often brings them into the house as 'gifts' for us. They are always alive and unharmed, which then gives us (or should I say my husband) the task of catching them. I have been know to scream on occasions. We have two humane traps and eventually they succumb to the delights within.
The worst situation was when I went in to work to find that my boss had inadvertently brought a mouse into the office (hidden in his rucksack)!!!
Nod is one of feral mama cat, Smokey Lonesome's 3 kittens. He has been the most skittish, but after days of sitting in the kitchen floor with them, even with my aching back, we suddenly turned a corner! Nod has decided we are his FAVORITE creatures! He is SO sweet and loving. All 3 kittens purr loudly! Not something every cat does!
I am SO happy to report that their mama cat, Smokey Lonesome, was spayed this morning! She is recovering nicely and will be allowed to integrate into our group of cats we call "the People." I am SO hoping this will work! If this is not a copacetic situation, she will be allowed to go outside the fence/gates. We will always feed our feral kitties that are on the outside.
(The furry doughnut that Nod is laying in middle of- which is a big circular tunnel below- was gifted to the kittens by their "Aunt Christa," who has sent LOTS of food and LOTS of love for them, and for Blix and her kittens!)
Happy Caturday!
A friend brought over some leftover toys for Pippi. I had warned her ahead of time that Pippi has never played with a single toy - no lasers, no cat dancers, no crinkle balls or catnip fish, no treat puzzles... Wouldn't you know it. She brought over a toy that Pippi LOVED. She rolled all around it, bunny kicked it, chewed on a ball at the end. It's called a Cat Chew Rope and has some sort of catnip chew at the end of it.
Sadie wanted to be by George who was on the bed so she's sneaking into a Caturday photo.

Macro Monday's theme - "Intentional Blur"
Borrowed a couple toys from Miley for this theme. She was watching very closely as I rolled her toys on the floor.
Happy Macro Monday and have a great week!
