greetings flickr friends, what would we do without these, many a good witch has wept for the lack of a broom;)

tootling around in our little A van at the moment so will catchup with all your wonderful images eventually.

I posted here all the shots I'd shared first on Facebook while I was "on strike" here for two months, but I've still got a lot of Flickr posting catchup to do, so you'll be seeing shots that may go back some time. like this one from early May.

I've never been able to replace my 'van gogh' iris, the subject of one of my favorite Albums here on Flickr, but I do have a different Dutch iris now. It's less dramatic than the 'van gogh' variety, but it presented me with a delightful surprise this spring when one of the flowers turned out to be not purple but yellow and brown.

I've had very little time for Flickr or photography recently but I had to pull over and grab a shot of the sunset last night.

As I've been away for a while, I need to do a serious catchup with all my contacts work and will try to do this a soon as possible. Hope all is well with everyone.

Backstory:

These have been busy days, indeed. Eric and I were married, in the midst of our eighth year together, on May 10, 2015. I'm trying to catchup with everyone's beautiful creations.

I felt like I could settle in to a few photos the other evening. This is one of the results of my quiet moments with my photography passion. I started by walking to the beautiful dogwood, in bloom, in the front yard. I patiently selected just the right branch with which to return to the house. I gathered the iPhone, tripod, and Shuttr and nested in my little makeshift studio in the basement. It's funny, really, I imagine my neighbors wonder what on earth I am up to next, smiling.

I am washed by the water, in so many ways, and so very thankful for the experience.

I'm sharing the apps below, in hopes you find the inspiration to create something that is spiritual to you and yours. xo

I spotted this moose calf and mom this morning and was able to work with them for about 20 minutes. Then they disappeared into the alders.

The calf was hurrying to catch up with mom.

Cormorants gather off Wynnum, Queensland, Australia. In my early morning walks along the bay I've seen plenty of these birds solo, or in pairs, but this group was surprisingly large and possibly the ones involved in flock fishing for bait in the shallows earlier this week (multiple cormorants herd fish). Over rated: Curry Wurst is a near holy food in Berlin. It is a grilled hot dog with catchup flavored with curry.

CatchUp

A nice field of wheat being harvested near the end of August. On days like this, the combine can sail through the crop and the trailer driver as trouble keeping up. A ingle frame handheld at f11.0 for this shot.

Playing catchup, 12 new ones having taken a few shots in January and uploaded very little - until now.

Some good snow and mist conditions on Hamsfell. The Bay is seen in the top right of the photograph.

Flowers of hellebores are a welcome sight when they bloom in late winter to early spring, this was taken at the flower show last week.

Note, because of the blizzard we might be without power and internet, will try to catchup when I can.
