Another catchup shot. I even got the mower out...no, seriously! Yes I DO know what it's used for. Yes I DO know how to start the thing. YES!!! I DO ACTUALLY know how to mow a lawn.
................ok, so I might have topped it up with 25:1 mix instead of straight mix but I was still in a euphoric "we're in the final!" state and miiiiiiiight not have been thinking completely straight. Anyway, the mower spluttered along, I was looking at the setting sun and trying to judge how much time I had before I lost the light. The mower revved and died at about that time, I bolted for the camera, ball, tee, driver, tripod and realised I didn't actually have a plan..................................................typical. So I went for the straight "ball on tee with driver behind looking like it's ready to tee off" shot. I took 6 shots before the sun slid behind the trees and the light turned to cr&p. Curves adjusted (as always), unsharpen mask, watermark, crop, compress and upload. Done, thank you for viewing and have a great weekend :)
View on black....you might wanna think about ducking...or moving :)
oh and "GO PIES!!!"
A westbound stack train on Track No. 1 is about to catch and pass a westbound manifest freight coming out of the siding in Olmsted Falls on the Chicago Line of Norfolk Southern.
Inspired by a VERY inspiring viral video, my favorite this year: www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaIvk1cSyG8 ... Thumbs up for rock-n-roll!
(re: the five-a-day decluttering challenge)
we were out of town last weekend, so i had some catching up to do. matt picked out 10 dvds to sell or list on swaptree, and i went through my storage in the basement. coming up with this much stuff was WAY too easy.
as with all our 5-a-day stuff, if any of you locals want anything for free, lemme know and it's yours.
this'll all be garage-saled, and donated if it doesn't sell. we have an amazing collection of stuff built up already.

We caught up with good friends today at the Gill's place, which was finished earlier this year, and was about to great 20 + people from a rain soaked couple of weeks. Thanks to Melinda and Anthony for being fantastic hosts, and whilst the rain only stopped for 30 seconds, the kids still had a great time in the pool, playing pool, and games.
I took along the photog gear and setup in a spare room and my gorgeous producer Sue filed the kids through as fast as we could to get their shot. They were all great with a dork photographer taking shots.
It is great watching these kids growing up. When the eldest, Hayden, was born, Sue and I were traveling in Europe, and I remember calling from a phone box (are they still around) from the Vatican. Fast forward a few years, and the crew is growing, with Scott and Corinne expecting their first in the new year.
There is another kiddy (late 30's) who got his shot taken whilst the lights were still up with a nerf gun and cammo gear, but that may not get published on flickr.
I have used the stock background shot from a couple of weeks back again.
The same lighting was used for each shot.

anyway... halloween, obviously. my three kids and an extra friend. See how girly my girls are?? they don't know what to do with me :) I send them to my sister for girl lessons. lol. and then there is the boy... he is death, can you tell? i love that kid.
Mattel FARBS guys are awesome! Manufactured in 1971 by Mattel, made in Hong Kong. I just love them!
When I was a kid back in the days my friend had Hot Rodney and I had an Aurora MBT-70 tank plastic kit built up and we agreed to swap my tank to his Hot Rodney but his mother said no to the deal. I haven’t seen it since then until now. I am so glad to get one after all those years! Although mine came without the goggles – so as the Red Catchup but I will make those lost goggles later soon as I find a suitable material.
Great to catch up with a sketching friend! Made me realise that I have a few withdrawal symptoms from having a friend to sketch with (ie. From my week sketching with Eza in Paris – it will be a while till you get to see those sketches up here but in the mean time check out Eza’s sketches from the week here)
But... back to tonight – great catch up with Alissa and swap sketchbooks!
I feel very tired now and probably was to tired to attempt to add a background – the colour was chosen to remember of the top I was wearing tonight (which colour? The background is hardly uniform) And of course, this is a cup of Earl Grey.
such a lovely time spent with a dear friend over the weekend.
we've been friends since 1st grade. how very sweet!!
a camera click when leaving clearwater, florida.
catching up again!!
Kenner time!
Kitten, my chunky bangs brunette, kept the name given to her by her original owner (from whom I adopted her).
Today brought a very lovely and very long overdue catch up with Si and Karen over in Chester.
We had the kind of glorious conversation where you talk for three hours and say nothing, and they're to be cherished!
Hopefully it won't be so long before our next get together. This is the garden table where we sat outside catching a very splendid bit of weather. :)
