Stepping back almost exactly two years, this is a series of phone-pics, taken in my in-laws' back garden in the suburbs of Nottingham. Now both 85, it's beginning to get too much for them and I'm not quite sure how it's going to pan out. They've been in this house for over 30 years and I've watched it change from "pretty ordinary" to "pretty extraordinary"!

When I met Dave in late April 2013, he was not doing the greatest but had a positive outlook for his future ahead thanks to guardian angels in the city. Now sober for a number of years and still as witty as always, he's always good for a joke in Peace Park. The first ones always free!

My write-up with Dave from 2013 is visible here, it was also a real treat to finally share with him my photo book I put together. #MadisonBeyondtheDome

Went for a hike along a different section of the local trails a couple of villages to the west of us.

Found this stream which flows under the trail down a very steep hill. Hope to get back there with rubber boots on - so wanted to follow the stream, but didn't want wet feet - the temps are cool and I'm already fighting a cold... Must go back...

I just returned from an incredible trip to Italy. Although I didn’t have the opportunity to do much in the way of the more typical landscape work that I like, I did get some practice shooting travelscapes. It was a lot of fun, and provided some new challenges. One of the main challenges was carrying around a LOT of gear while walking several hours a day and taking almost every possible form of public transportation.

Now for your daily history lesson. I know you're thinking that I must have messed up the title for this image, but this is the original name for this well known icon. It comes from the family name Flavium which belonged to both the emperors Vespasian and Titus. Construction was started in 70 AD and completed in 80 AD. The structure was capable of seating 50,000 spectators, and it’s estimated that about 500,0000 people and over a million wild animals died in the Gladiatorial games that were played here. It wasn’t until almost 1,000 years later that it became known as the Colosseum.

Straight out of camera.

I'm always impressed by wildlife ... their beauty ... their behavior ... their intelligence ... their acceptance of us (as long as we're respecting their space) ... their grace, and of course, their speed. this bighorn sheep ram was no different.

When we first encountered the herd of rams, they were just doing the "hangout" thing. Slowly, but surely, they each began making their way down the slope towards our direction. All of a sudden, this guy begins to trot, then open it up full throttle! It was amazing to witness the power and speed that they possessed. Yes, he was gorgeous too. :-) The other followed too. As this guy raced past us, I believe that he even stuck his tongue out at us. LOL, just kidding.

Thanks so much for stopping by to view and especially for sharing your thoughts and comments.

If you want to see more from Grand Teton NP, just check out the blog post. Part 1 is already posted; Part 2 will be posted tonight. :-)

2017 Christmas light display in Kingman, Arizona. I brought my aunt to see these as a gift for her 75th birthday. When I reached for her and said, "Here, Aunt Shirley, hold my hand," she began to cry. She said it took her back to when I was a little girl and reached for her hand when she took me places. That made me cry.

I never edit in black and white because I hate it and I suck at it. But once I put it in black and white, I hated it in color. So, you're stuck with this. Sorry.

Sooo, I was able to find a photo editor built into my laptop! It's nothing like photoshop but I can adjust colors to an extent so I'm going to be doing that tonight and tomorrow. Slowly catching up. Yayay.

Still waiting to get my real photoshop back :( We'll see how that goes.

ODC, Oasis - seen at a local market last weekend. As you can see, it's not your typical farmer's market as there was a chill zone tucked away from all the hustle and bustle of the produce and food stands.

Thank you for any comments and/or favourites, which I always appreciate. I am taking a bit of a step back from most things Flickr so my apologies if I don't reciprocate, but I'll try to do so when I pop in for a quick visit.

In the meanwhile I'll be posting regularly on my Facebook page - you're welcome to visit me at www.facebook.com/LyndaHPhotography

Sooo Saturday I went to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince at the Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. My sister works for Warner Bros so we got to see it for free... (and free concessions too! Nice) The movie was fabulous... I don't read the books, but my sister does and she said for some parts it was 'exactly how she imagined' it, so that's a good sign I suppose ;) Though really I can't imagine them going wrong with any of the HP movies anyway...Okay, so I had had only about 5 hours of sleep before seeing the movie Saturday... I was feeling 'ok' though exhausted for the most part... I woke up Sunday morning with the intention to do my normal Sunday routine... and nope nope... did not happen. I think I slept all of Sunday... well maybe I was up for a total of two hours? I reckon my cold has relapsed, and turned into something worse... I couldn't get out of bed... I could barely speak to Steve coherently... I was just.. kaput. Ugh... being sick in the summer time is unfortunate! Hope I'm better for Friday! (my 25th bday!)

The end.

Day .213.

p.s. Will be catching up soon! x
