These groynes at the beach near Porlock weir just seamed to catch the light of the early morning sun.

One of my favorite streets to shoot during this time of the year as the sun rises directly along it....gonna have to get up early to catch it though!

A cormorant getting an eel the right way around for swallowing head first. Unlike cormorants I've watched taking eels on the Dee at Chester the bird made no attempt to kill the eel. The cormorant simply tossed the eel into the air, dropped it and recaptured it until it had hold of the right end. Then the eel was swallowed whole, wriggling furiously in the bird's throat.
Photographed on the Ria Formosa at Olhão.
A brief moment of morning sunrise glow caught by the peaks of the Canadian Rockies in Canmore, Alberta.
i stood on a bench and looked down -- the catchlights are from the sky peeking through the trees.
i know one eye's blurred. i know it's not supposed to be.
i don't do supposed to be well.
i also have no idea what i'm doing, photographically, but i like it.

Patience pays off. Just another sockeye salmon to ready this sow for the winter hibernation to come. Funnel Creek, Katmai National Park and Preserve, AK.

White-throated kingfisher / ধলাগলা মাছরাঙা
Bird# 12
Bird details: flic.kr/p/2eDnui2
Mid March and a trip to Worcestershire hoping to catch a a Kingfisher. It was a hard day with a long wait for the first visit and only one other very brief visit.
The Common Kingfisher is a small bird with unmistakable plumage. Its back is bright metallic blue and its breast is a coppery-brown. The beak is long and black, though females have a orange patch at the base.
Clutching her catch with her jaws and paw, she prepares to return to the beach and share her bounty with her cubs. Glaucous winged gulls are already well aware. They will share in whatever scraps are sure to float by in tidal waters. It’s another moment in a summer morning along the Alaskan shoreline.
