One of those lucky shots where I managed to catch a Bee in flight. First Bee sighting for me in 2016 a female after emerging from her hibernation.
The windy alley outside The End on Leeds First Friday.
The weather, especially the wind, rather took the edge off the evening for me.
I should have got Victoria to take a pic before I went out into the elements.
I posted a few action shots of local kite-boarders doing their thing at Compton Bay on the Isle of Wight back in September when it happened, but for some reason I neglected to post lots that i think are worth a look at now, so here's a multiple upload catch-up thingy, hope you enjoy the ride.

Some fossilized creatures travel a long, subterranean road in their return to ash or dust. Abundant Devonian gastropods (marine snail-like) fossils occur at Marengo Creek, a short hike from Virginia Falls, Nahanni National Park, Northwest Territories, Canada.
Mother Nature has freed these 300 million year old gastropods from their rock entombment. They came to light because, starting some 50 to 70 million years ago, a leading edge of the Earth's moving crust has been uplifting and eroding a succession of mountain ranges called the Cordillera Orogen on the west side of North America, Central America and South America. Fossils like these will tumble away to nothing in mountain streams from Alaska to Patagonia. At long last, they will be recycled into sand and clay.

Kingfisher, Alcedo atthis ( Alcedinidae ),
The Kingfisher is found near fresh water of most types including streams, rivers, canals, laker and marehes. It prefers clear, slow-flowing waters. In winter it is often seen on tidal estuaries, salt marshes and rocky sea-shores. It feeds mainly on small fish such as Minnows, Sticklebacks and Gudgeon. It also takes crustaceans ( an important part of the diet in winter ), frogs, tadpoles and large insects. It catches its prey by sitting on an exposed perch overlooking the water and plunge-diving when prey is sighted, It will aiso hover for short periods above the water looking for prey. Kingfishers are highly territorial, especially dueing the breeding season, and are aggressive towards other Kingfishers that stray into the territory.
The nest-site is usually in a hole in the bank of a stream or lake, though sometimes it is a considerable distance from water. A tunnel 1-3 feet long is excavated, ending in a bowl-shaped chamber which contains the eggs. No nest material is used but the nest becomes lined with regurgitated fish-bones. Both sexes share in incubation and care of the young.
The Kingfisher is mainly resident and sedentary, though birds from the northern part of the range move southwards or to sea-coasts when fresh water freezes in winter,.

A mirror ball for me has always been something magical, something mysterious, like a dream. Or rtaher many little sparkling dreams that can come true. That is why I decided to use it here.
The lighting - do't even ask me what I used)) It must've looked really stupid the way I positioned my lights))

Thrilled to find one of the featured crabbing boats off one of my favourite TV shows the Deadliest Catch, the FV Time Bandit, tied up in Ketchikan.
It looks a lot smaller standing beside it than it appears on the show.
I finally have my new vaio.
