This catamaran is seen here departing from the Port of Ibiza Town, Balearic Islands, Spain, on 24/07/2024.
In the distance, high up, are the walls of the Castell d’Eivissa – Ibiza Castle – an iconic landmark that stands atop the Dalt Vila, the historic Old Town of Ibiza. This imposing medieval fortress is an assortment of numerous buildings that span centuries (including the Moorish-era Tower of Homage, the 8th century Almudaina Moorish keep, the former governor’s home and the 18th century infantry barracks), reflecting the island’s strategic importance and the influence of various civilizations that have ruled over the region. Its origins can be traced back to the 7th century BC when the Phoenicians settled in Ibiza. Recognising the strategic significance of the elevated site, they constructed a fortified settlement to protect themselves from potential threats. Over time, the Phoenicians were succeeded by the Carthaginians, Romans, Vandals, and Byzantines, each leaving their marks on the fortress. For more details please see www.historyhit.com/locations/ibiza-castle-castell-deivissa/. The Parador de Ibiza, a 66 bedroom hotel has been built atop and is due to be open in the early part of 2025. To the right of this can be seen Catedral de Santa Maria de la Neu de Vila d'Eivissa. The white building to the right is Ajuntament d'Eivissa, the Town Hall.

If you follow in our footsteps and complete the W from east --> west, your exit will involve a 30-40 minute catamaran boat ride back to the entrance of the park. We got incredibly lucky with the weather on our final day and got to bask in the sunshine as we ferried along the glacial water... hitting "rewind" on the scenery we experienced the prior 5 days.
We spent a morning cruising along the shoreline in a catamaran. Weather was pretty good, drinks were great, and the food was the best.
