The Yacht Club is one of the several buildings claimed to be haunted, in particular is the story of ghosts who like to leave the lights on and play cards in one of the meeting rooms...
Catalina was one of the nameplates for Pontiac's full-size cars. It was built in this form from 1971 until 1976.
Unfortunately this broke down shortly after I took this and it was seemingly having a bit of difficulty moving away from roundabouts in the few miles before it stopped. Hopefully nothing too serious, as it certainly looked great, especially when it passed us at speed on the dual carriageway!

Picture taken overlooking the Camp Cherry Valley (CCV) Cove as I made my way back from a 4.5 mile hike up to a 1,300ft peak (and back) last Friday morning whilst at Catalina Island with my boys Scout Troop. The entire waterfront is part of the Scout Camp in this pic.
Catalina Island, California.
As we approached Avalon, the main harbor on Catalina Island, we passed the famous Catalina Casino. No gambling there; it's a movie theater at ground level and a ballroom above.

Santa Catalina, one of California’s Channel Islands, lies southwest of Los Angeles. It is known for its wildlife, dive sites and Mt. Orizaba, its highest peak. The resort town of Two Harbors lies to the north. To the south, in the city of Avalon, palm trees and cabanas line Descanso Beach. Avalon’s circular, art deco Catalina Casino is a cultural center with a movie theater, ballroom and museum.

Flying Cat - Hawker Nimrod
The Catalina, officially known as the Consolidated PBY Catalina, was a versatile flying boat used by various nations during and after World War II. It was known for its long-range capabilities, ability to land on water, and served in roles such as reconnaissance, anti-submarine warfare, and search and rescue. The Catalina played a crucial role in maritime operations during the war and has a significant place in aviation history.
The Hawker Nimrod was a British torpedo bomber designed by Hawker Aircraft in the late 1920s. It was a single-engined, two-seat biplane with a fabric-covered steel-tube fuselage and wooden wings. It was armed with a single fixed forward-firing Vickers machine gun and could carry a single 18-inch torpedo or up to 1,000 pounds of bombs. It entered service with the Royal Air Force in 1931 and was used in the early stages of World War II, but was quickly replaced by more modern aircraft.
