The meadow was slicker than snot! Even dislodged from the muck and on level ground the tires couldn't get traction. Gee guys maybe you should consider carpooling!

Pushing farther north on the bay Area Ridge Trail we went back to Marin County for a hike. After meeting at the END location on Vineyard Road we carpooled up to Dogbone Meadow Park on Novato Blvd to start on the trails.
The section between Novato Blvd & Vineyard Road was an easy climb on mostly open trails that didn't have much to offer in terms of either scenic beauty or challenge.
That was completely different in the Indian Tree Open Space Preserve. There, we had some steep climbing and descent along with mostly forested trails and views out to the two highest peaks in the San Francisco bay Area.
For the day we got in around 9.3 miles and climbed 1825+ feet.
It's officially SUMMER!

Really, I’d be willing to bet we could ride this out for another 60 years: The increasing fires, the extreme weather, the worsening air quality, and increasing greenhouse gas emissions that weaken the health of our planet. And really, if I’m lucky enough to live another 60 years, I’ll have lived a long life.
.
But I have kids. So this world needs to be habitable for another 90 years. And they might choose to have kids. That means we need access to drinking water, clean air, and habitable living conditions for another 120 years. You see where I’m going?
.
The battle against climate change is a LONG GAME. And while the reusable grocery bags and metal straws and carpooling we are doing is a good start, they won’t bring the big changes we need to see happen to really battle climate change. Those big changes need to happen on a national policy level. And this very moment in time might be our last window to address these changes before it becomes too late. If we don’t do anything now, it is projected that we will see up to 100 million people in poverty by 2030 due to extreme weather events caused by climate change.
.
The data is there, the science is real. Climate change is happening, and we can’t ignore it any longer. We need bold climate action NOW.

Carpooling is pretty cool, Dave and I are going to do it whenever we can. I am thinking 3 or 4 days a week (I only work 4 days - so that would be the max!). The downside, is that my camera was ready to be discharged from the spa at about 1115. Normally I would have imposed on someone to take me to the store to get my camera, but I exercised some self control. Never mind the near breakdown in the car after Dave picked me up because of the traffic. Needless to say I got there in enough time to have a lovely Cannon v Nikon debate (friendly of course) with the staff.
Then I had a board meeting to get through and the picking up of a puppy we are sitting (Yalu, who will probably make and appearance at some point this week.) Then after all that waiting a picture!!! Took it out (of my newest Crumpler) and found the subject of today's pic. Crisp and clean pics (yay! thank you camera spa workers at Pardee's Cameras - www.pardeescameras.com ). About today's pic - this is some left over salt-water taffy from a recent street fair. I can't stand salt-water taffy. Mostly because I don't know what flavor it is going to be - too much risk of getting something horrible like popcorn (which shouldn't be in taffy) or god forbid something melon flavor.
This is a rendition of the World War II Poster "Have you really tried to save gas." In the time frame they it was encouraged to conserve gas by carpooling. In the present time, we are being asked to conserve on just about everything. Energy, gas, and yes...Trees. A totally paperless society is pretty hard to imagine, but if we eliminate small usage situations little by little, we could definitely save a lot more trees than we slaughter.

It is supposed to rain in Phoenix today and this morning it looks like it might.
Today is a carpool day so I get to take shots out the window while she drives.
Cool huh?
These clouds looked better in real life but I still wanted to get a shot.
This is the last month of my 365. And as I have probably said before I can't wait till it's over.
I have too many other obligations here and making sure I take a daily photo winds up being a last min. photo that I am not pleased with.
So 30 more to go.
Took this while carpooling too. This is one of the first colour/b&w photos I've done. Did I do a good job?
And yes, these were the bobbleheads that were given out in the cereal boxes a while back.

I don't know whom this feather belonged to. It was sitting in the red dirt typical of this area, where several dozen of us carpooled with binoculars and cameras on a birding expedition, mainly to see bald eagles. The set of that trip is here.
A meandering all-day social climb up the First Flatiron organized by Rom McGuffin. We had two ropes, but even so, with eight people things go slowly. Ironically because the meetup was in S. Boulder, I rode all the way down there, and then we "carpooled" back to Chautauqua, in Football traffic, climbed (we could hear the stadium from up on high) and then "carpooled" back to S. Boulder, where I got on my bike and rode home (unimpeded by said traffic). Tons of people up on the rocks, many without gear. Beautiful day. And I got to practice listening to Russian!
The Town of Oyster Bay employees carpool, take mass transit and vanpool to work, so LITM has offered them a Guaranteed Ride Home program so participants don't have to worry about getting stranded in the event of a personal emergency or overtime work hours.

The Wild Huckleberries Red Hatters met in Valdosta to carpooled to Boston, GA. In Boston, we toured the Dillon Candy Factory. Then we took a driving tour through downtown Boston, GA. Next we drove back toward Valdosta and stopped in Quitman and had a delicious lunch at the Wiregrass Restaurant. It was a fun time of candy tasting, shopping, winning prizes, eating, and fellowship.

We carpooled so that the roomie and the climbing partner could get smashed in the old apartment one last time before we turned in our keys.
Unfortunately the Kumeu-Huapai area becomes part of Auckland Council from 1st November this year. Our area will be run by a council located 40km away, and they won't have the first idea where to find Kumeu-Huapai as they won't be able to find their way beyond the end of the northwestern motorway when it ends at Brighams Creek.
This billboard will accurately reflect the level of service we will get for transport & other services out here in the boonies.
One of the best parts about the New Vols Summer Send-Off: making connections with local families in the area. It can great for carpooling back home later..

Due to the weather my roommate and I carpooled to work on 09 December, and on the way her car had a flat tire on the entrance ramp to I670 East.
