A 4mm scale 1/76 model built using the Kingsway Models kit representing the scene in North Street in the 1970s. DMS 1877 carries a suitably local advertisment.
While working in a book a designed this modular paper balls or spheres. This one is about 18 inches in diameter.
The spheres did not make to the book! ;-)

This is a close up of my black striped paper balls. A new collections requested by an art gallery as gifts for their employees. This is another attempt to turn my 3D paper work into 2D art images. I do not now how successful I was! ;-)

A long time fan of modern architecture I started collecting architectural scale models about 20 years ago. These kits designed by van Zanten are beautiful in the box products. Long out-of-print I've been able to acquire 10 of his designs over the years. This is the most ambitious kit in my collection.

The house is located in Margaret River, Western Australia. The clients for the house had a narrow urban plot and requested that their future house would have as much outdoor space as possible for the family to utilise and enjoy. As a response to this request, the concept for the design of the house evolved around the idea of making a series of external spaces; a garden for the children to play in, a vegetable patch, a space to eat in the evening and a deck to the north. The massing of the house and garage is broken down into three volumes which form the periphery to these external spaces. On arrival you move through the front garden and a series of controlled courtyard spaces, before entering the house. On entering the hallway you move up to a raised living space which takes advantage of the view of the jarrah forest to the north. Upstairs, the bedrooms are organised in a narrow volume to enhance cross ventilation and eliminate the use of mechanical cooling systems.

La casa está situada en Margaret River, Australia Occidental. Los clientes de la casa tenían un espacio muy estrecho y solicitaron que la casa futura tuviera tanto espacio al aire libre como fuera posible para que la familia lo utilizara y disfrutara. Como respuesta a esta petición, el concepto del diseño de la casa evolucionó alrededor de la idea de hacer una serie de espacios exteriores; un jardín para que los niños puedan jugar, un huerto, un espacio para comer al mediodía y una plataforma al norte. La masa de la casa y el garaje se rompen en tres volúmenes que dan lugar a la periferia de los espacios exteriores. A la llegada te mueves a través del jardín delantero y de una serie de patios, antes de entrar en la casa. Al entrar en el recibidor te mueves hasta el espacio elevado del salón que aprovecha las vistas hacia el norte donde se encuentra el bosque de Jarrah. En la planta de arriba, las habitaciones se organizan en un volumen estrecho para mejorar la ventilación cruzada y eliminar el uso de sistemas de refrigeración mecánica.
La casa è situata in Margaret River, nella periferia Australiana. I clenti della casa avevano una richiesta precisa e cioè che la casa futura avesse un consistente spazio esterno da poterne usufruire e goderne. In risposta a questa esigenza, il concentto progettuale ha ruotato intorno all’idea di creare diversi spazi esterni, un giardino dedito al gioco dei bambini, un orto, uno spazio conviviale serale e un ponte a nord. La volumetria della casa e del garage e suddivisa in tre volumi che definiscono quindi la periferia degli spazi esterni sopra citati. Al suo arrivo il passaggio viene filtrato attraverso il giardino anteriore e una serie di spazi destinati a corte, prima di entrare nella casa. Entrando nel corridoio ci si arriva fino a un living in rilievo che sfrutta la vista della foresta Jarrah a nord. Al piano superiore, le camere da letto sono organizzate in un volume ridotto per migliorare la ventilazione a croce ed eliminare l'uso di sistemi di raffreddamento meccanici.
