Feeling a little discouraged by the new year diet? Mine started properly today and the thought of always choosing the lettuce over the chocolate isn't that encouraging. Although, I actually managed to photograph this chocolate and then put it back in the box!

You can see this sign from the Old Town and as you (if you do) enter Havana by cruise. To cross to this side you need to take the ferry to Casa Blanca from the ferryport nearby the Havana Club museum.
This service runs 24 hours and costs 1CUP (not CUC) each way.
Most people head uphill to the Christ of Havana, where you also get a panoramic view of the old town slightly ruined by the overgrown greenery.
Instead, if you walk along the railtracks (formerly used by the Hershey Train to Camilo Cienfuegos) you will get to a decrepit wharf where the locals fish and some even dare to swim.

Capture The Flag - February 2012
I met these amazing guys today while I was on my way to target, they asked me to buy a cd. I had never heard of them, but I listened to their cd and they're an awesome underground band from Oregon! So, I asked them if I could do some promo pictures and they agreed!! I had a great time getting to know them a little tonight, they are a cool group and hopefully will see them again/take more pictures when they come back in April! :)

After some time spent in capturing the beautiful early morning land and seascape scenes, the attention was now directed toward the emerging birds, also. The water was very rough, with even good surfing level intensity at times. But, certain species of birds tend not to mind, and almost, delight in it. The ocean side of the jetty had some pretty strong waves throughout the time I spent there, and the sandy beach side had only the small pools of water up against the massive boulders where the sand begins. The wildlife could be found in a number of areas as one would walk the long jetty: the ocean, the jetty surface, the pools of water along the collective boulders, and the beach, both the enclosed portion and toward the end of the jetty where the sand directly meets the sea’s crashing waves. So, it is important to keep a sharp eye in all directions, for one never knows what could be seen at any moment.
The Harlequin Ducks are amongst the very favorites of many photographers and birders, for the patterns and colors are truly quite eye-catching. In addition, it is amazing to see how they enjoy the rough waters by the rocky structures, all while pecking away at barnacles and marine vegetation on the jagged walls.
The Barnegat Lighthouse State Park is truly a splendid landscape, famous mostly for its historic lighthouse (over 100 years old) of architecturally clean lines that accentuate its presence, but also the well-designed structure of the long jetty consisting of huge rocks and boulders sandwiched between the nice sandy beach and the ocean, and finally, the wonderful array of fascinating birds throughout the seasons. All of this is even more beautiful during the breathtaking end-of-the-day sunsets or early morning sunrise period, with the accompanying “Magic/Golden Hour” that exudes the special tones in the air. As nature enthusiasts and photographers, it doesn’t get much better than this.
Balade dans le parc national du Rincón (région du Guanacaste) à la découverte des phénomènes volcaniques et des cascades cachées sur les versants du volcan. Sans compter les nombreuses rencontres animalières dont celle d’un boa dans une forêt tropicale encore très dense !
Le paysage rencontré est différent de tout ce que nous avons pu voir auparavant : sur plusieurs sentiers nous pouvons apprécier de très près l’activité volcanique, notamment les fumerolles et les "pailas”.
Bain d’argile riche en oligo-éléments dans l’une des sources chaude sur le sentier Santa María.
Retour au lodge, sorte d'hacienda située dans une vaste propriété en pleine nature au pied du volcan… pour un coucher de soleil flamboyant.
