In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon unto Jerusalem, and besieged it. And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of God: which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god. And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes; Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.

CAPTIVITY KILLS !!!

Society and People say they Love animals yet everyday they exploit them, use them, steal them from there natural habitats and wild for human greed.

For six months of each year – day in and day out, from September until March – entire pods of dolphins and small whales are driven into Taiji’s killing cove. Once netted into the cove, the dolphins and whales face brutal slaughter or a lifetime in captivity.

Neither is it cultural to kidnap dolphins from the ocean and sell them to marine parks in order to exploit them until their death for money. This is simply a multimillion-dollar business that fills the pockets of a few at the expense of the suffering and death of many. Here the dolphin trainers and murderers work side-by-side, dolphins trying to escape from the boats that were leading them to death, and precious lives stolen as their bodies are dragged to the butcher house under the tarps of shame. The murderers and trainers tried to hoist them on to the boat to take them to the pens at the harbour where they will be sold to any marine park for large sums of money. What it's happening in Taiji is a global problem. This issue concerns us all.

The dolphins need us, and to help them we must all make a commitment. Tell our friends and families what it's happening, encourage them not to visit dolphinariums or other centers with captive cetaceans. This industry has the same blood stained hands as the dolphin murderers in Taiji. Take to the street -- go to your nearest dolphinarium and explain to the people what is happening there and the history of terror that a dolphin has had to experience to finally end up locked away in a pool for the rest of his life.

Please, never buy a ticket to a Marine Park or facility that holds captive dolphins. Teach your friends, family and children to respect our world's oceans and the magnificent creatures that swim free within.”

This white Bengal Tiger is handsome, but not looking too pleased at the moment. Not quite as it seems, though - he (she?) and a friend are confined to a smallish cage/run while the Panaewa Rainforest Zoo in Hawaii finishes construction of their new large enclosure.

The Snowy Owl (Bubo scandiacus) is a large owl of the typical owl family Strigidae. The Snowy Owl was first classified in 1758 by Carolus Linnaeus, the Swedish naturalist who developed binomial nomenclature to classify and organize plants and animals. The bird is also known in North America as the Arctic Owl or the Great White Owl. Until recently, it was regarded as the sole member of a distinct genus, as Nyctea scandiaca, but mtDNA cytochrome b sequence data (Olsen et al. 2002) shows that it is very closely related to the horned owls in the genus Bubo. The Snowy Owl is the official bird of Quebec.

This yellow-eyed, black billed white bird is easily recognizable. It is 53-65 cm (20-26 inches) long with a 125-150 cm (50-60 in) wingspan. Also, these birds can weigh anywhere from 1.8-3 kg (3.5-6.6 lbs). The adult male is virtually pure white, but females and young birds have some dark scalloping; the young are heavily barred, and dark spotting may even be predominate. Its thick plumage, heavily-feathered feet, and coloration render the Snowy Owl well-adapted for life north of the Arctic Circle.

Snowy Owl calls are varied, but the alarm call is a barking, almost quacking krek-krek; the female also has a softer mewling pyee-pyee or prek-prek. The song is a deep repeated gawh. They may also clap their beak in response to threats or annoyances. While called clapping, it is believed this sound may actually be a clicking of the tongue, not the beak.

Unsure as to whether we would see a cheetah in the wild, we scheduled a day trip to the DeWildt Cheetah Center.

Since its inception, some 500 cheetahs have been raised and re-settled in game reserves throughout South Africa and other countries, proof that a cheetah bred in captivity doesn’t lose its hunting instinct and can adapt quickly to its natural environment.

De Wildt Cheetah and Wildlife Centre has received international recognition for bringing the cheetah back from the edge of extinction and it was largely due to their efforts that the cheetah was removed from the endangered species list in 1986.

I dont think this captive siberian eagle owl liked me invading its space

On a hot day, when the temperature reached 40 degrees, a tiger will spend its time immersed in cool flowing waters. I learn to my astonishment that only the Indian tiger in the wild can be white. In captivity there are white cross breeds of various types. This one is Indian; it has its tufted ears pointed right at me.

Picture is taken at Nordens Ark.

Nordens ark has participated or is currently taking part in re-population projects, to release animals born at the facility into the wild, including the white stork, eagle owl, bell frog, otter, European wildcat, and lynx. Thank you Nordens Ark for the great work you do every day!

this is somewhat a representation of ideas held captive and lost forever. i was aiming for something simple and precise with this concept.

i thought that ideas shouldn't just be left inside your head, but should be shared through creating something beautiful. don't let anything hold you back, or tie you up.

don't let fear be your prison, for there still so many things to be grateful about.
