I normally would have a great caption for something like this but can't think of a good one so I'll leave this one to you comedians out there.

The winter Black-headed Gull and the Moorhen were at Hogganfield Loch yesterday. I posted this on my Facebook page and the best caption to come in was Dean Martin singing "When a gull gives you the eye, and you can't understand why...that's a Moorhen" (Thanks Neil)

Portrait from a very close encounter with a local brown hare.

One from my trip to Elliston this past summer. Feel free to add your own caption.

I took this photo (I asked them first) some time ago and a lot of stuff came to my mind 🤔 while I was looking at these winter fishermen today.

Can you caption this image?

It is all about forms.

It looks very interesting to see so I didn't miss the chance to capture it! It's a decayed papaya leaf.

Top: Pink Cream Pie

Hair: Foxy

Captions for this set welcome :)

I saw this pair of glasses on a log in the white cart river in Linn Park, Glasgow, and I thought "I'm sure there must be something witty to say about it" ... all suggestions welcomed!

Give me your best captions :)

Thanks to everyone for you congrats on making it to Explore 🙏

I have all sorts of associations when seeing this image. What are yours? Put them down in the comments below! :)

Proboscis Monkey (Nasalis larvatus) Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary. Sabah, Borneo

Always shoot the Aces, right?? I do, anyway. So this was the 7,000 ft. QCHCTAC6-26A approaching our home in Maiden Rock, WI on Nov. 26th after a light snow. I posted the shot with several others on Facebook and a La Crosse engineer friend of mine said "I see you got photobombed on this shot." I didn't know what he was talking about. Then he pointed out the pheasant in the tracks about to get nailed by the 60 mph westbound intermodal train.

So, in terms of captions, I would offer: "Pheasant gets Aced," or alternatively, "The perils of running too many eastbound corn trains on the St. Croix Sub."

Any other suggestions? BTW, the bird is unalive lying in front of our house on Main #1.

Green Woodpecker taken on a very long distance shot.

Reminds me of all the “ORLY” meme’s…

The Library of Congress caption says that this is Adrienne, a black hulled fishing schooner built in 1892 by A.D. Story in Essex, Massachusetts. The photo - here with my colorization - is from the time 1892 - 1899.

A close look at the photo indicates that Adrienne may have been built in the style of a fishing schooner, but a working fishing boat it was not. The crew seems to include two cooks dressed like French chefs, and the other people on board do not look like fishermen either .

The Historic New England site has this information on a schooner Adrienne, which could be the one in the picture:

"Adrienne was a wooden keel schooner designed by G. Lawley & Son and built by G. Lawley & Son in 1883 for Jacob Pfaff, then Commodore of the Boston Yacht Club. In 1897 she was fitted with a new stern. In 1899 she also received a new bow. LOA 71ft. LWL 60.9ft. Beam 18ft."

There is still another Adrienne mentioned in the "History of the Southern Yacht Club": "The schooner Adrienne, the commodore´s flagship, was owned and shipped by him. She was listed in the Yachts and Yachtsmen of America as a 63 foot centerboard schooner, designed and built by Stewart & Binney for W.A. Gordon and Westley E. Lawrence of New Orleans, La. She was launched in 1892 at Essex, Mass."

Well, it can happen I suppose.......

Taken at Al and James' wedding this weekend, this was the moment Claire met, well, her wedding twin.

Captions anyone? ;o)

No caption needed, just a great sunset for a great day.

Tried to think up an appropriate funny caption, but you all always seem to have a better one :) I'm rather looking forward to the suggestions!
