We're gonna need a bigger boat!

Sunset on the water is so nice. Hive had the cutest camp set in a gacha.

Gurd Lake is one of the inland lakes, located about 10 km inland from the north east corner of Georgian Bay, a lake that offer endless canoeing and kayaking adventures. Another view, just for You! Enjoy it!

It’s big, well structured, symmetrical, solid, run by family members and perfectly maintained...the canoe I’m referring to!

Another canoeing shot ! This style of paddling is only done on calm, windless days, usually in the early morning. Most of the changes to this image were done in the RAW converter: Temp and contrast boost, then "levels" tweaked in PS.

I wrote about how I made this image here.

Made it to #1 on Explore.

I can quite confidently say that I have never laid my eyes on a scene as picturesque and photogenic as Emerald Lake in the Yoho National Park, in Alberta Canada!

Could you imagine waking up in a place this gorgeous? I know I could! I was absolutely thrilled that I was to be spending two nights at this lodge... in a five-star room with an amazing view of the lake! I was in Landscape Photographer's Heaven!!

I arrived at the lodge well after dark (11pm)... so I didn't really have a chance to scout around for compositions to shoot at sunrise the next morning. However, these canoes caught my eyes while I was lugging my luggage across the bridge in the dim light of darkness... so I made a mental note to check them out as soon as the dawn arrived the next morning.

I was perched on the edge of the wooden deck with my camera on it's tripod (attached to my new panoramic tripod head) well before dawn... I grabbed some shots before the other guys (and gals) in the group arrived... and then I moved on looking to see if I could find any other promising locations. Then, when the light was turning really nice shortly after sunrise... I moved my camera back to my sweet spot on the boathouse deck... and shot this seven (portrait) image panorama. I knew that I'd timed the moment just right as soon as I looked at the images on the camera's LCD... oh my... what a great way to start the day!!

I managed to get loads of other great shots at Emerald Lake that day... but this will probably turn out to be my favourite.

I was hoping to do 110/100 paddles this morning, but changed my mind.

*Canoƫ:

French word for canoe which is a long, narrow watercraft with sharp ends originally used by most peoples. The canoe varies in material according to locality and in design according to the use made of it . On the northern fringe of the American forest where smaller tree trunks were found and rapid rivers and many portages favored a lighter craft, the bark canoe dominated, reaching its highest development in the birchbark canoe. At portages this light canoe could be lifted on one's shoulders and easily transported. The canoe played an important part in early American history.

These two photos are from our day trip before we went to Stratford for the week! You may remember, JJ and I went to Ryde, Isle of Wight for the day. After stomping around on the sandy beach, we continued back for the catamaran passing the Canoe Lake. The clouds were coming over and we didn't expect to see anyone there, but there were a couple of guys floating their boats there!

Sitting a spell in the siding is ID coal run E248-31... They are getting the same first class view of the sunset God painted last night across the fields of rural Alabama. Just a great way to spend some of the darker days in our countries history, and a pastime I won't soon give up as long as I'm able! Lord bless all of you keeping us going!

Unlike the prior image, Paddle To Sun, this is the proper image taken without the paddle reaching up. The intention was to have the sun flares above and align with the gunnels of the canoe.

The kayakers beached their craft above the rapids with the intention to portage. The guys in the canoes kept right on coming . Turned out to be dad and his two kids. Dad hit the rapids first.
