Canoe Bridge
Southwest, False Creek
Vancouver, BC
Canada
Canoe bridge was designed in the shape of a canoe and spans Jarvis Inlet and is located in the 2010 Winter Olympics athletes' village.
Appropriately named, this walk bridge was built on the waterfront of False Creek - well known for Kayaking, Canoeing & Dragon Boating.
The bridge was designed with the environment in mind. The bridge deck is made up of closely spaced slats that allow plenty of sunlight to shine through. This design minimizes bridge shadows on the water below, so that aquatic plants and creatures aren't affected by the darkness.
True to the phrase, 'Up a creek without a paddle'

Clear Lake (Oregon) is a mountain lake at about 3000 feet elevation. It is known as exceptional freshwater dive spot. At this time of year, the sun makes light patterns on the almost white floor of the lake. With this day’s sun angle, my camera captured my shadow in our canoe as well as some colorful plants on the shore. Naturally, there is distortion and the canoe looks shorter and fatter than it really is.

I caught the moon coming up the other day, so this seemed natural. Of course, I can hardly breath this time without sucking up mosquitoes.

Yes, my fine flickr friends, I took a punt(ow !) tonight with this title - however if you have heard the other ones I was considering , you would be all thinking how kayak (groan) she do this to us ;).
I am just sticking my oar in tonight(another groan) as I have not been on here for a few days and do not have much time tonight either. So this photo is more to say hello to you all and ask you Canoe (ouch !) bear with me a little while before I can pop in to your streams (ouch again) to comment, fave - say hello ?
