We stopped by Verve Coffee for an afternoon caffeine fix. I had a cup of El Pintado, which was the best cup of coffee I've had in a while. Looking up at the ceiling, I noticed the warm glow of the bare light bulbs surrounded by the cool early-evening light from the side windows (emphasized with post-processing).
Things got heated! Looked like this bonfire was about to get out of bounds. Fortunately, the water hose team tamed it.
In addition to the standard HDR blend, this show has also been enhanced with the Camera Plus app using the HDR effect.

The present site of the building, which stands on the corner of South Harris Street and West Haynes Street, was the location of Mr. Mark Saunder’s store at the crossing of roads. On December 19, 1793, the Legislature of Georgia authorized that a central place for a county site be chosen for Washington County. In 1796, Mr. Saunders donated a part of his plantation for this purpose and in his honor the town was named Saundersville, later contracted to Sandersville.
On November 27, 1812, the town was incorporated by an act of the Georgia Legislature. Here also was a relay station on the stagecoach road from Louisville to the new capital in Milledgeville.

MASONIC TEMPLE
A beautiful reproduction of the Greek Temple Athene, erected in 1855-56 for the Masons, of brick, hand-made by slaves, stood on this corner. An appeal by Mr. James D. Anthony and Dr. James R. Smith - Methodist Ministers - and Mr. Pincus Happ, members of Haynes Chapter of Royal Arch Masons, saved the building from destruction by Sherman’s Army in 1864, when all other public buildings in town were burned. This was one of several Masonic Temples in Georgia spared by Union officers who were Masons.
This historic building was destroyed by fire in 1921.
150-5 1954
Near here stood Montgomery White Sulphur Springs, popular resort area of 19th century America. During the Civil War the resort was converted into a military hospital staffed by Catholic nuns. Several hundred victims of smallpox including nurses and soldiers are buried nearby. The Southern Historical Society was reorganized here in August, 1873, when Jefferson Davis delivered the principal address.
