The birth of Aphrodite it is not. Is it an oversized pearl? Well, we are getting closer. I am not sure whether my advice would carry any weight, but if asked what camera somebody beginning photography should use, my advice is clear. Do not go for the latest and most sophisticated model (very expensive anyway). Get yourself a quality second-hand camera body (mirrorless these days probably) that enables you to do a lot of things manually. And add a fine and 'normal' (close to the human angle of view) prime lens, perhaps second-hand too. And look and behold, you would have a powerful combo that does not break the bank but would allow you to do some serious photography. It took me a while to understand this.

Lo que quiero al verte es confiar

ver tus labios rotos al partir

ir directos a tu yugular

hoy he vuelto a juzgar

y te he vuelto a mentir

se que nunca me tendrás

ni arañas en mi corazón

Lograras vender un ultimo adiós,

por los cayos de Barbuda, arrastro mi final

Empiezo a ver la grandeza de no juzgaras

Smile on Saturday

Nicéphore Niépce

The first partially successful photograph of a camera image was made in approximately 1816 by Nicéphore Niépce, using a very small camera of his own making and a piece of paper coated with silver chloride, which darkened where it was exposed to light.

There would be so many things to choose from. Not only is the camera an idea but also the things that the wee people are doing.

As we say today, a "prime" lens. And, oh yes, it is most certainly that, a prime example of superior workmanship. Wonderful manual-focusing optic from Nippon Kogaku. These wide-angle Nikkor lenses delivered truly outstanding results back in the film days. Great color, great contrast, and sharpness you could cut yourself with (um, somehow). Will display it with my F3.

The best part, I found it at a thrift store for $5. Five dollars. A Nikkor lens for less than a fast-food lunch. It was in a ratty lens case for some long-forgotten cheap optic brand (the coated cardboard tube type with the stiff plastic strap). (Sigh) How the mighty have fallen.

OK I confess, hobby number 4 is photography. This one was taken with the iPhone and spruced up with an app called Prisma - my favourite iPhone app.

This is what my bangs (or fringe according to Mark) look like now....i also cut the rest of my hair too.
