I enjoy hearing cranes as much as seeing them. They migrate through the area during spring. Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, USA, April 2025

If you were calling a loved one from outside the Pantheon in Rome on the 8th October around 4PM this could be you. This was one of many photos I took that day in Rome. I took two lenses with me, a 13mm f1.4 Viltrox and a manual focus 33mm f0.95 Laowa Argus, this was taken with the 33mm.

A challenge was made and Popabong Tendaze came out swinging with this great "Brit Brat" tee! (If you know a British brat who would like this, you can get it from Fuckery Department.)
Early morning a carrion crow (Corvus corone corone) is calling and calling very loud and combativ (?). No "enemy" like a bird of prey was around. Not even a co crow. The bird did not took any notice from me or my camera. By the way a beautiful looking bird.
BNSF job 113 rolls past the Soo Line depot in Superior with UP loads from CHS. The depot is undergoing a renovation to become Thirsty Pagan Brewing's new location (they are currently just up the street). I can't wait to throw back a few here.

Plant common names and their variations can be fascinating. Often, they tell more about our imagination than about the plants themselves. This is a photo of Cuphea ignea from my garden. I grew up with my grandmas and my mother calling this flower "Flor de Nossa Senhora" (Our Lady's Flower) and I could understand why. I tried to capture the resemblance in this photo. But when preparing this upload, I came across the English common name, Cigar Flower. I can also see why, although my brain is conditioned to see a human figure instead. What do you see?

This little Carolina Wren was really belting out its song. It's amazing how much sound such a small bird can produce!

I met this little guy on a remote planet named Arizona. Communication with the rocky lifeform was not easy, but if I understood him correctly, he was visiting from somewhere north of the Sadr the region.
He was very calm until that huge black cloud creeped in and slowly started eating up the Milky Way. I tried to calm him down by telling the story about the intelligent Black Cloud from Fred Hoyle's equally named science-fiction novel. That did not seem to help, though, and the little guy decided to call home for help. His pose kind of reminded me of E.T., although I was missing the glowing finger...
