A crystal structure of Spanish influenza hemagglutinin (trimer) bound to a computationally designed binder (green). The computationally designed protein binds hemagglutinin with high affinity and blocks the conformational changes in hemagglutinin that underlie its function, thereby neutralizing influenza. The crystal structure is virtually identical to the designed model, validating the design approach.

According the first calculations before 2007 the building should cost about 77 million €. By 2013 the cost for the taxpayer amounted to 789 million €. The project should have been finshed years ago, but it still is under construction.
So starting on phase 3 of the loop. The inner one which is going down. I made some calculations on the depth, and praying that I am right I started on it. First 2 baseplates I sort of finished. Right baseplate is lowered, left baseplate is the normal height.

From Phoenix Comicon 09, this young woman fascinated me, last of 4 images in a row of her. If anyone knows the character she is portraying, please let me know. This is one time I wish I had not had the long zoom lens on the camera. But, these four images were very fun to take. I hope someone will pass it along to her for the link to the set for the comicon photos I am collecting together.
Here are the other five photos I got of her:

Monday March 14, 2011.
Based on photo sampling calculations more than 1,680 people had gathered by 12:15pm in Spaight's Plaza for a UWM United rally. People voiced support for social justice issues threatened by Governor Walker's Agenda of stark cuts to public education and the middle class. Signs voiced support for a Recall Election of Republican State Senators, including Alberta Darling. Other sign holders and speakers voiced support for Solidarity of Workers, Teachers, Graduate Students, and Students at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and candidates in an upcoming election on April 5th for Milwaukee County Supervisor, and for Wisconsin State Supreme Court. The Internet also made a brief, in person, humorous appearance.

Intelligent
The shecare App uses the advanced "CARE+" algorithm to accurately predict the ovulation period, integrates 'multi-dimensional hormone time-series analysis', 'intelligent test paper deep learning' and 'natural language understanding technology'.
Based on the natural cycle data of millions of our users, the menstrual period, basal body temperature, and LH test paper also known as LH ovulation test kit or ovulation LH test strip are combined, the combined analysis of cervical mucus data can more accurately lock the golden ovulation day and increase the probability of conception. You can track and view the menstrual cycle and ovulation forecast at any time.
Multiple Applicability
Large LCD screen: large screen display with backlight. The results can be read in the dark clearly. It is easy to read after the temperature measurement is completed.
200 sets of data storage: the smart basal thermometer can store 200 sets of body temperature measurement data. There is no need to worry about forgetting to update the records--it can upload the accumulated data to the shecare App via Bluetooth.
Multi-purpose Bluetooth smart basal thermometer: It can be used for home medical temperature measurement, pregnancy management, pregnancy preparation, contraception, menstrual management, etc.
How do You Check Your Basal Body Temperature
The process of basal body temperature tracking is simple, but it does require some effort.
1. Before getting up every morning, you can use a special thermometer designed for basal body temperature, or a digital oral thermometer also known as mouth thermometer or temperature under tongue. You can take oral, vaginal or rectal readings.
2. If possible, take your body temperature at the same time every day. This may mean that you must set an alarm. You should try to stay within 30 minutes of the average time. Before the measurement, you should have at least five hours of sleep.
3. Draw the number of the basal temperature thermometer on the chart. You can use a fertility tracking app or track it yourself on graph paper. Look for a temperature change of approximately 0.4 degrees recorded in 48 hours. When this change lasts for three days or more, it may be a sign of ovulation.
4. Plan your most fertile days. About two days before you expect your basal body temperature to rise, you will be in your optimal pregnancy period. Remember, sperm can survive in your body for up to five days.
5. If you want to avoid pregnancy, please be careful. If you are tracking your basal body temperature to avoid pregnancy, start on the first day of menstruation.
How do you Use a Basal Thermometer
Most basal thermometers are taken orally, just like ordinary thermometers. But you can buy instructions with recommended vaginal or rectal temperature measurements (obviously, you will choose a method and stick to it!).
You should take your temperature at the same time before and after getting up in the morning every day.
Record your readings on a paper chart every day (it is usually provided with the thermometer, or you can download one and print it out) or use the app digitally every day (choose the app you like or are related to the thermometer brand).
Check for Mode-your BBT will rise by about 0.3C within a few hours after you ovulate, and it will continue to rise for two or three days. You are most likely to conceive about two days before your body temperature rises.
This is a photograph from the 4th and final round of the 2015 Mullingar Road League which was held in Belvedere House and Gardens, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 27th May 2015 at 20:00. The weather was perfect for running and racing again and gave bright sunshine with some breeze. The weather conditions were favourable for runners this evening. As this was the final night of a very successful league there were many category prizes up for grabs with runners having to ensure they ran their races to gain the required finish times for the overall calculations. There was a great atmosphere at the finish as spectators cheered on the runners. This year's 5KM is ran on a modified route based on the route from the last couple of years. The final 1KM is within the Belvedere Gardens bringing runners down to the lakeside for a second time and finishing along the aptly named Stream Of Life. The route modification means that the race offers a slightly faster route than the hill finish of previous years. In the prize giving and awards in Belvedere House Cafe there were refreshments served for runners and this brought the curtain down on the Road League for 2015.
The race is promoted by Mullingar Harriers for the Pat Finnerty Memorial Cup. Competitors need to run 3 races out of the 4 races in May (any order) to be considered in the overall placing in categories at the conclusion of the league. Runners can also choose to just run one race without being considered for the overall league placings. Over 330 people took part in tonight's event bring the total from the four nights to so far to well over 1,400 runners. As with all of the previous weeks the new finish area provided a nice space for runners to stay around and chat in the evening sunshine. The Mullingar Road League 2015 is now over but has continued successfully and looks to add to the success in the history of this great series. Despite the bright evenings the photographic conditions in Belevedere are difficult so this photograph is part of a smaller than usual photograph set as there were many blurred photographs this evening.
The "Road League" is something of a misnomer but is an indication of the League's origins on the roads around Ladestown Mullingar prior to it's move into Belvedere in 2008. The Road League is the envy of many other races in the country as the Belvedere locations offers a completely traffic free 5KM route.
We have an extensive set of photographs from tonight in the following Flickr Album: www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/sets/72157653157747838

Your mobile, tablet, or desktop device will also offer you several different options for sharing this photo page on your social media outlets.
BUT..... Wait there a minute....
We take these photographs as a hobby and as a contribution to the running community in Ireland. We do not charge for our photographs. Our only "cost" is that we request that if you are using these images: (1) on social media sites such as Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter,LinkedIn, Google+, VK.com, Vine, Meetup, Tagged, Ask.fm,etc or (2) other websites, blogs, web multimedia, commercial/promotional material that you must provide a link back to our Flickr page to attribute us or acknowledge us as the original photographers.
This also extends to the use of these images for Facebook profile pictures. In these cases please make a separate wall or blog post with a link to our Flickr page. If you do not know how this should be done for Facebook or other social media please email us and we will be happy to help suggest how to link to us.
I want to download these pictures to my computer or device?
You can download this photographic image here directly to your computer or device. This version is the low resolution web-quality image. How to download will vary slight from device to device and from browser to browser. Have a look for a down-arrow symbol or the link to 'View/Download' all sizes. When you click on either of these you will be presented with the option to download the image. Remember just doing a right-click and "save target as" will not work on Flickr.
I want get full resolution, print-quality, copies of these photographs?
If you just need these photographs for online usage then they can be used directly once you respect their Creative Commons license and provide a link back to our Flickr set if you use them. For offline usage and printing all of the photographs posted here on this Flickr set are available free, at no cost, at full image resolution.
Please email petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com with the links to the photographs you would like to obtain a full resolution copy of. We also ask race organisers, media, etc to ask for permission before use of our images for flyers, posters, etc. We reserve the right to refuse a request.
In summary please remember when requesting photographs from us - If you are using the photographs online all we ask is for you to provide a link back to our Flickr set or Flickr pages. You will find the link above clearly outlined in the description text which accompanies this photograph. If you really like what we do please spread the link around your social media, send us an email, leave a comment beside the photographs, send us a Flickr email, etc. If you are using the photographs in newspapers or magazines we ask that you mention where the original photograph came from.
I would like to contribute something for your photograph(s)?
Many people offer payment for our photographs. As stated above we do not charge for these photographs. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that the photograph(s) you request are good enough that you would consider paying for their purchase from other photographic providers or in other circumstances we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.
Let's get a bit technical: We use Creative Commons Licensing for these photographs
We use the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License for all our photographs here in this photograph set. What does this mean in reality?
The explaination is very simple.
Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.
ShareAlike – anyone can use these photographs, and make changes if they like, or incorporate them into a bigger project, but they must make those changes available back to the community under the same terms.
Above all what Creative Commons aims to do is to encourage creative sharing. See some examples of Creative Commons photographs on Flickr: www.flickr.com/creativecommons/
I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.
Don't like your photograph here?
That's OK! We understand!
If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible. We give careful consideration to each photograph before uploading.
I want to tell people about these great photographs!

Catlin certainly enjoyed hunting with the Indians, and described his own exploits in bringing down buffalo with gusto and graphic detail. He observed, with equally minute attention, that the buffalo provided everything the Plains Indian needed: "There are, by a fair calculation, more than 300,000 Indians, who are now subsisted on the flesh of the buffaloes, and by those animals supplied with all the luxuries of life. The great variety of uses to which they convert the body and other parts of that animal, are almost incredible to the person who has not actually dwelt among these people, and closely studied their modes and customs. Every part of their flesh is converted into food, in one shape or another, and on it they entirely subsist. The robes of the animals are worn by the Indians instead of blankets-their skins when tanned, are used as coverings for their lodges, and for their beds; undressed, they are used for constructing canoes-for saddles, for bridles-lariats, lassos, and thongs. The horns are shaped into ladles and spoons-the brains are used for dressing the skins -their bones are used for saddle trees - for war clubs, and scrapers for graining the robes-and others are broken up for the marrow-fat which is contained in them. Their sinews are used for strings and backs to their bows-for thread to string their beads and sew their dresses. The feet of the animals are boiled, with their hoofs, for the glue they contain, for fastening their arrow points, and many other uses. The hair from the head and shoulders, which is long, is twisted and braided into halters, and the tail is used for a fly brush. In this wise do these people convert and use the various parts of this useful animal, and with all these luxuries of life about them, and their numerous games, they are happy (God bless them) in the ignorance of the disastrous fate that awaits them" (Letters and Notes, Letter No. 31).
Catlin came to believe that the buffalo would be wiped out, which raised another question in his mind: "When the buffaloes shall have disappeared in his country, which will be within eight or ten years, I would ask, who is to supply [the Indian] with the necessaries of life then? and I would ask, further, (and leave the question to be answered ten years hence), when the skin shall have been stripped from the back of the last animal, who is to resist the ravages of 300,000 starving savages; and in their trains, 1,500,000 wolves, whom direst necessity will have driven from their desolate and game-less plains, to seek for the means of subsistence along our exposed frontier? God has everywhere supplied man in a State of Nature, with the necessaries of life, and before we destroy the game of his country, or teach him new desires, he has no wants that are not satisfied" (Letters and Notes, Letter No. 31). The end was not exactly as Catlin predicted, but he was nearly correct about the fate of the buffalo. Modern experts estimate that the buffalo herds in the 1830's were between forty and sixty million head; it is almost inconceivable that within fifty years, that number would be reduced to less than five thousand.
Quoted From: Campfire Stories with George Catlin
This is the closer approach about the comparison between the sizes and distances ratio of our entire solar system which in proportional scale..., and not forgetting too its proportional velocities...
In facts, all these can be figured out relatively and accurately via the software and mathematical calculation nowadays.
Cerita dongeng = Lagendary story....
Although it has not been launching, but it will become obsolete soon. The reason is it is still not precise enough. We still can add in their actual co-ordination geometry and positions separately.
But the beauty of such sketch is it can let the audience understand better and faster if we compare this methodology with old traditional way of communication approach. It is still suitable enough if we channel it for our kindergarten kids, junior school & young learners at least via the games industries, comic and so on industries. Millions of people do not know even how our world and universal scene looks like, this includes me. If we do not understand roughly how it looks like even, the consequence of this simple concept is people may hardly understand how these molecules or viruses may appear around us.
As such without knowing the rough actual universal situation, I can not imagine how people may understand further this global climate can influent or become a major impact for each of us, our life, our happiness and every generation some more. Can they believe further all the lessons taught by the teachers in the schools?
If we do not try to reduce such problems, what consequences we may face then? I guess, human beings keep working and paying the bills, gaining a thoroughly tiring body everyday such as like we may keep feeling dizzy or tiring after visiting the hypermarkets, sleepy in the train during peak hours especially, suffocated or uneasy in highly polluted area before we can have little life and happiness left.
Of course different health condition may receive different response obviously. For those who are healthy enough one may not feel so. But is it worth if we keep endangering of life by persisting ourselves to accumulate certain uneasy molecules and viruses everyday and every second.
You and me only have one life, can we invest our life ignorantly as it is?
For those who do not alert enough about the hygienic requirements, they may tend to be trapped with certain disease easily based on " Nothing Comes From Nothing " principle.
Are these things all of us wanted in our life journey?
What barriers are there now??
1. Information in put and output clarity problems??
2. Communication or language problems???
3. Legacy matters? Intelligibility problems?
4. The environment problems are too complicated kinds of issues; it is totally beyond human beings control?
5. Do we have to live as it is everyday? If it is that way forever, it contradicts totally with what we have learnt in schools and so on.
6. Can we tolerate leniently further? is our life that fragile forever....?
We should be really thankful for all our world leaders who keep challenging and taking care of our countries and the entire world either partially or as a whole for such revolutionary transition from time to time. They keep challenging to educate and alert us, as the citizens on how and why there is a global climate change...and how we can live better and so on etc issues.
How it changes, why it changes, how the global environment affects us everyday. Isn't it good enough if we share further on how our universe and molecules look like further and how they affect us & our body instantly? We keep breathing uncountable gas into our body every second? May be thousand of viruses as well... Is our air clean and safe enough?
Similarly we also eat everyday ....... , do you think there isn't any problems at all?
Deal or No Deal
What are our kids’ demands? How deep knowledge they can absorb?
What our whole world people expect to see and live in?
Can we live well with obsolete kind of art, knowledge and technologies only??? When no choice, it still will somehow.
Is it risky enough if we persist to do so? What if we combine both of the old and new kind of information input together? Won't it become better?
Can the truthful knowledge win people's heart steadily? I guess it will be accepted sooner or later. Our people become more and more literate; as such our people become more and more smart, they prefer to see realistic and truthful kind of information. They know well how to distinguish between the good one and the fake one. Normally good and genuine people will be very daring to prove their products with full facts. Otherwise, our audience will not spend time seeing our show or art at all. The main reason is they have limited time as well.
If they never support our presentation, can we expect them to buy our product in the near future then?
They can support sometimes just because they want to relax their mind, entertain their soul or hopefully they will spend their time helping them someday if possible. But in actual facts, they may either tease it or reject to accept so if they are able to see and access too many other options around the world.
What is our fate??? Does our God know? Can anyone help???
Can we live well in this competitive world?
谁来保护我们的地球, 谁来主持公道呢???也许是事实。。不然,您,我,我们的下一代也难保可长命百岁。。。愿您也来参与吧。。。

The goals of this project are to push the accuracy and scalability frontiers on the quantum mechanical calculation of realistic materials, and advance renewable energy technologies by studying surface reactions on transition metal oxides. Molecular reactions on these surfaces are pertinent for high-capacity energy storage, as well as photocatalytic carbon dioxide reduction, which has the potential to turn sunlight directly into fuel.
This image depicts the electronic structure surrounding a carbon monoxide molecule being adsorbed on a cuprous oxide (110) surface. Cuprous oxide is a promising photocatalyst for carbon dioxide reduction for solar fuel generation. This INCITE project aims to model this and other transition metal oxide surface reactions with unprecedented accuracy, by combining a new and efficient valence bond quantum chemistry method with highly scalable Quantum Monte Carlo.
The results of this research will help evaluate approaches used to perform first-principles calculations and inform the choice of future techniques. The knowledge gained from these advanced approaches will deepen understanding of surface reactions on key materials that could lead to more efficient energy storage and energy conversion, and reduce dependency on fossil fuels for transportation and other energy needs.

This is my first test shot of making a macro lens at home.
Normally most of the shots I take are with my excellent Tamron 180mm macro lens, but for some time now I've been getting high mag-rate fever. The Tamron is fantastic, but what if I could get closer?
Sure, I could buy some extension tubes, pop on some teleconvertors and maybe a close-up filter, and take closer shots with the Tamron, or I could even plump for a Canon MPE-65...but at the moment I am excedingly broke so none of that will do.
I have some lenses that I barely use, like the two kit lenses that came with my 300D -- the EF-S 18-55 and the EF 55-200. What if I reversed those lenses?
Hence, the new Dellis Homemade macro lens.
Total cost
-- $10 ($8 for step-down ring, $2 for super-glue)
-- skin on knuckles
First, I cut a hole in the camera body cap using a lot of brute force and a sharp knife. I then filed down the jagged edges with a nail-clipper nail file.
Next step was to super-glue a 52mm glassless filter ring to the cap....then wait an agonising 24 hours for it to dry.
The basic idea behind reversing your lens is that the cap connects to the camera body, the camera lens then screws in backwards to the cap, and you point the open end at your subject. Think of your camera as a filter that screws onto your lens. However you picture it, magnification ahoy!
*warning*
When you reverse your lens there are no longer any contacts betweens your camera's electronics and your lens, so all focusing must be done manually.
Also, it is very easy to accidentally twist the lens and cap off the camera. Be very careful in the field.
*warning*
My first experiment with a reversed lens was dire. Well, not dire really, but no greater magnifgication than was given by my Tamron already. With a stepdown ring I tried the 55-200, and again it was not much better.
So I headed out to buy another step-down ring, this one for my Sigma 28-300mm lens. I got a 62-52mm step down ring and the lens attaches wonderfully.
My first macro test shot is above. These are the entire shots rescaled to fit. The upper half is the Tamron 180mm at the maximum closeness to the subject (in this case a Singaporean 10c piece). The second photo is the full shot from the reversed Sigma lens, and as you can see the mag rate has gone through the roof.
The only problems with this method is that barely any light falls on the sensor when you do macro this way, so shots have to dropped a few f-stops.
Also, the working distance is incredibly close, so I'm only going to be able to take shots of the most serene of insects.
The third problem is that the DOF is wafer thin. It now makes me wish I had a focusing rail...
If I can, I'll take a shot of the set up so you can see what's happening, but all up this is a cheap macro lens that doesn't involve damaging the camera or existing lens.

330-PSA-200-60 (USN 1050056): With cold calculation, YNC (SS) Richard W. Caron, USN, unwinds the first toss in the historic premiere North Pole ball game. The umpire with the frozen stare and cold heart was HM1(SS) A.V. Jarvis, USN, September 15, 1960. Master Caption: USS Seadragon’s Polar Voyage. USS Seadragon (SSN 584) arrived at Honolulu, Hawaii, on September 14, 1960, after completing her voyage from Portsmouth, New Hampshire, to the North Pole, via the Parry Channel “Northwest Passage”. While in the Arctic basin, Seadragon made hydrographic, oceangraphic, and other scientific observations. The submarine surfaced several times in Baffin Bay, the Parry Channel, Arctic Ocean and stopped at the North Pole on August 25, long enough for her crew to play the world’s first polar ball game. Frogmen swam under the ice photographing its underside. The water temperature was 28.50 F at the pole.(9/9/2015).
(Brian McBride - 'Love and the Sea, and Everything in Between')
I was reading about how much the oceans would rise if all the polar ice melted. The calculations are rough, of course, because they don't take into account how much of that melt-water that would be spread out over the continents in river valleys and marshes, etc.
But the quick, rough answer is that sea level would rise by 225 feet or so, assuming that ALL of the ice melted. And that would wreak havoc along the coasts as residents scurry to higher ground like sandpipers ahead of a wavelet at the beach. But it has happened before. And it will happen again, at some point in time.
Unless of course, it doesn't.
All the predictions and calculations make assumptions that may or may not be true. And no one knows how long it might take for all of the ice to melt. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says 12 years, but I don't see Al Gore selling his beachfront property just yet, so..
Science tells us that the sun will swell into a "red giant" and swallow up all of the inner rocky planets one after the other. That's supposed to happen in roughly 7.6 billion years, so don't bother getting out the lawn chairs just yet..
Just things I think about while watching the moon rise through the trees..

The vessel that helped start Lower Lakes Towing was built in 1943 at a cost of $1.97 million by the American Ship
Building Co. This, the "Flag Ship" of Lower Lakes Towing was the 10th of 16 such vessels built in a two-year period during
World War II to carry much needed iron ore to the steel mills which were mass producing tanks, artillery, aircraft, and
other supplies for the war effort. The A1 type Maritimer Class Bulkers were the first boats on the Great Lakes to be built
with a new cruiser stern design and the only lakers to be powered by a 2,500 i.h.p. four crank, double compound steam
engine. In 1974, the vessel was converted to a self-unloader and the equipment installed consisted of a two-belt gravity
fed system with hydraulic gates and a forward-mounted 250' discharge boom that can swing 100 degrees to port or
starboard. On August 1, 1995 the vessel was sold to Lower Lakes Towing Ltd. and was renamed Cuyahoga. The vessel
is the second oldest Canadian registered lake boat still in active service on the Great Lakes preceded only by her fleet
mate Mississagi. She is the sole survivor of the A1 Class of Maritimers.
Cargo carried on the Cuyahoga includes stone, iron ore, coal and other bulk commodities.
SHE IS NOW THE OLDEST SINCE THE MISSISSAGI HAS BEEN DECOMISSIONED & IN THE PROCESS OF BEING SCRAPPED.

Taking these photographs and preparing them for online posting takes a significant effort and time. We are not posting photographs to Flickr for commercial reasons.

Previously, in the calculation of the internal energy of the ideal gas in statistical mechanics, it has been supposed that the volume is a constant, which does not depend on any arguments. However, the volume depends on pressure and temperature, and its partial derivative is not equal to zero. In this paper, the dependence of the volume on pressure and temperature is taken into account, and the internal energy is calculated exactly. It differs from the traditional internal energy by the product of the pressure and volume. This explains three paradoxes in thermodynamics. It follows that the isochoric heat capacity equals the isobaric one. It is shown that the derivation of Mayer’s relation which connects the isochoric and isobaric heat capacities is wrong. This paradox is valid also for real gases because, in a wide range of temperatures and pressures, they only minimally deflect from the ideal gas. It is interesting to note that the obtained result explains the enthalpy paradox. Thermodynamic potentials internal energy, U, and enthalpy, U + PV, are qualitatively different, but, for the ideal gas, they are identical thermodynamically and differ only in the multiplying factor in that U equals 1.5PV, and H equals 2.5PV. If everything were correct in traditional thermodynamics, then U would not be thermodynamically identical to H even for the ideal gas.

Timing signals for the new detector system for the next 3D unit (2013) with 2 external fast 6 ms shutters. I would like to calculate the optimal position as well as the direction of flight. Detector calculation need to be super fast, into less then 50us. The readout of the 128 analog pixels from the sensor + high-speed ADC 8 bits convertion may take a max of 40 us, +60 us for position-direction calculation (10.000 calculations per second). This is a start of my dream, the special components have been delivered. Given the new components, the majority are implanted in SMD. This is an additional difficulty, only single-layer PCB is available at this moment. The line-sensor is true hole 14 pins version, all others are SMD.
Discussion can also be followed on the next Dutch forum:

Now I will start the verilog code programming for the FPGA board. PLL clock at 50 MHz is running, now I have to add all the other signals. Line sensor readout and the serial ADC convertion need to be perfect synchroon as show in the diagram. Change the value of the PLL clock to a lower value may vari the readout and acquisition duration of the sensor/adc convertor. Easy to adjust this integration times.
Update 2012 Aug 06
Timing adjusted and corrected for read out to the FPGA module. The read out time is only half of the past because of the use of two ADC 7888 highspeed converters.
This 11th century Church remains here today and can be visited. It has a curious carving over the front door. The tympanum over the South Door Depicts a Dragon and is probably 8th Century and symbolises the calculation of the incidence of Easter.
William Bradford was born in 1589 in the small farming community of Austerfield, Yorkshire. His father William died when young Bradford was just one year old. He lived with his grandfather William, until his grandfather died when he was six. His mother Alice then died when he was seven. Orphaned both from parents and grandparents, he and older sister Alice were raised by their uncle Robert Bradford. William was a sickly boy, and by the age of 12 had taken to reading the Bible, and as he began to come of age he became acquainted with the ministry of Richard Clyfton and John Smith, around which the Separatist churches of the region would eventually form about 1606. His family was not supportive of his moves, and by 1607 the Church of England were applying pressure to extinguish these religious sects. Bradford, at the age of 18, joined with the group of Separatists that fled from England in fear of persecution, arriving in Amsterdam in 1608. A year later he migrated with the rest of the church to the town of Leiden, Holland, where they remained for eleven years. Bradford returned to Amsterdam temporarily in 1613, to marry his 16-year old bride, Dorothy May. In Leiden, Bradford took up the trade of a silk weaver to make ends meet, and also was able to recover some of the estate in England that he had been left by his father, to support himself and his new wife in Leiden. They had a son, John, born about 1615-1617.
By 1620, when a segment of the church had decided to set off for America on the Mayflower, Bradford (now 30 years old) sold off his house in Leiden, and he and his wife Dorothy joined; however, they left young son John behind, presumably so he would not have to endure the hardships of colony-building. While the Mayflower was anchored off Provincetown Harbor at the tip of Cape Cod, and while many of the Pilgrim men were out exploring and looking for a place to settle, Dorothy Bradford accidentally fell overboard, and drowned.
John Carver was elected governor of Plymouth, and remained governor until his death a year later in April 1621.
Bradford was then elected governor, and was re-elected nearly every year thereafter. In 1623, he married to the widowed Alice (Carpenter) Southworth, and had a marriage feast very reminiscent of the "First" Thanksgiving, with Massasoit and a large number of Indians joining, and bringing turkeys and deer. Bradford was the head of the government of Plymouth, oversaw the courts, the colony's finances, corresponded with investors and neighbors, formulated policy with regards to foreigners, Indians, and law, and so had a very active role in the running of the entire Colony. With his second wife, he had three more children, all of which survived to adulthood and married. Beginning in 1630, he started writing a history of the Plymouth Colony, which is now published under the title Of Plymouth Plantation. A number of his letters, poems, conferences, and other writings have survived.
William Bradford was generally sick all winter of 1656-1657; on May 8, Bradford predicted to his friends and family that he would die, and he did the next day, 9 May 1657, at the age of 68.

In summary please remember when requesting photographs from us - If you are using the photographs online all we ask is for you to provide a link back to our Flickr set or Flickr pages. You will find the link above clearly outlined in the description text which accompanies this photograph.
Great! Thank you! The best link to spread the word around is probably http://www.flickr.com/peterm7/sets
