A building in downtown Cairo. The architecture and age of downtown Cairo buildings is very interesting. I wish I knew the name of this building, but I never noted it down. I'm sure this building has a story to tell.
Another beautiful mosque I visited in Cairo, Egypt a few weeks ago. I really want to come back here at night when hundreds of these hanging lanterns are lit... I think it will be mesmerizing! #cairo #egypt #rcmemories #mosque

The Cairo Tower (برج القاهرة, Borg El-Qāhira) is a free-standing concrete tower in Cairo. At 187 m, it was the tallest structure in Egypt for 37 years until 1998. Built from 1956 to 1961, the tower was designed by the Egyptian architect Naoum Shebib and inspired by the Ancient Egyptian Architecture.
The majestic dome over the water fountain (sabil) was built in the late 13th century inside the court of the Ibn Tulun mosque – one of Cairo's finest and earliest monuments, completed in 879 CE. The monuments of the Saladin citadel loom in the background, notably the Ottoman-style mosque of Mohammed Ali from the 19th century.
