They actually thinned the cable guides.

Just kidding. Mom asked for an eyeglass case. The cables distorted the ends.

Main public section of Cable Beach. Vehicle 1BLO 245 is in the wrong place - parked immediately below the grassed viewing area. The steps in the background are the southern steps down from near Zanders. As I was getting organised to take the photo the Broome Shire Ranger drove up and enquired was it my vehicle, to which of course the answer was no.

For years this was the only vehicle I had seen illegally parked. From 2017 it has become much more common, even normal. On July 30, 2018 there were 21 vehicles illegally parked at Cable Beach around sunset time. G1X3678

The Ngong Ping 360 is a tourism project on Lantau Island in Hong Kong. The cable car serves to connect Tung Chung, on the north coast of Lantau and itself linked to central Hong Kong by the Tung Chung rail line, with the Ngong Ping area in the hills above. This is home to the Po Lin Monastery and the Tian Tan Buddha

Cables coming through the desk to a place where presumably a computer once was. The window around this desk is an amazing 180' view across the Bristol Channel towards Wales and Clevedon. Unfortunately it is mostly boarded up now and smashed, so I can only imagine what it looked like! You can also see cup marks on the desk - it's a great reminder of how people spent so many hours working here.

Introduction of ADSS Fiber Optical Cable

ADSS cable, All-dielectric Self-supporting Optical Cable (also known as All-dielectric self-supporting fiber optic cable). All-dielectric fiber optic cable is made of all-dielectric materials. Self-supporting means that the reinforcing member of the optical cable itself can withstand its own weight and external load. Because of its self-supporting , its mechanical strength is very important.

The use of all-dielectric materials is due to the fact that the cable is in a high-voltage, high-energy environment and must withstand the effects of high voltage. Since it is used overhead on the power pole tower, it must have a matching pendant to fix the cable to the tower. That is, the ADSS cable has three key technologies: the mechanical design of the cable, the determination of the suspension point, and the selection and installation of the matching hardware.

The mechanical properties of ADSS fiber optic cable are mainly reflected in the maximum operating tension, average running tension and ultimate tensile strength of the cable. The national standard for ordinary optical cables specifies the mechanical strength that optical cables with different modes of use (such as overhead, pipelines, direct burial, etc.) should have. The ADSS cable is a self-supporting overhead cable, so it must withstand the long-term effects of its own gravity and must withstand the baptism of the natural environment. If the mechanical performance of the ADSS cable is not designed properly and is not compatible with the local weather, the cable will have a safety hazard and the life will be compromised. Therefore, each ADSS cable project must be designed with professional software according to the natural environment and span of the cable routing to ensure that the cable has sufficient mechanical strength. When the transmission line is already equipped with a ground wire and the remaining life is still quite long, it is necessary to build the optical cable system with low installation cost as soon as possible, and avoid the power outage operation, etc., the ADSS cable has great advantages.

Looks to be an old, wood framed, cable drilling rig.

Also known as ballistic well drilling and sometimes called "spudders", these rigs raise and drop a drill string with a heavy carbide tipped drilling bit that chisels through the rock by finely pulverizing the subsurface materials. The drill string is composed of the upper drill rods, a set of "jars" (inter-locking "sliders" that help transmit additional energy to the drill bit and assist in removing the bit if it is stuck) and the drill bit. During the drilling process, the drill string is periodically removed from the borehole and a bailer is lowered to collect the drill cuttings (rock fragments, soil, etc.). The bailer is a bucket-like tool with a trapdoor in the base. If the borehole is dry, water is added so that the drill cuttings will flow into the bailer. When lifted, the trapdoor closes and the cuttings are then raised and removed. Since the drill string must be raised and lowered to advance the boring, the casing (larger diameter outer piping) is typically used to hold back upper soil materials and stabilize the borehole. I whipped together a new stereo wire for my car / iphone setup. It is

just some thrift store cat-3 cable and two 1/8" gold plated adapters.

Network cables make stereo speaker wire as well. I've been using cat-5

on my speakers for 8 years now.

A note on fancy stereo cables. Gold is not as good a conductor as

silver or copper. Gold plating is just used because the other popular

conductors oxidize easily.

Cable Beach, Broome, Western Australia. They came along at the right time - fortunate to be there. I didnt get to ride one - was content to get the photo.

Just a moment that I decided to capture for my photo collection when I was walking on the center of Campinas.

I had only my smartphone to capture this, so I needed to crop and do some color correction prior to share it.

I believe the end result looks fairly better. Although the case does not allow cable management too well, I did my best to hide those snakes. Cable ties did a really good job.
