Very good full-bodied red from Chile, offering excellent value for money. 6 months oak provide smooth supple tannins and a touch of vanilla, while the grapes have produced a full-flavoured blackcurranty wine, with lots of flavour.
WBW#34: Washington State Cabernet Sauvignon
In my dream, my friend and I shared a lovely bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon. We sat outside, although the day was a bit gray and breezy. Our animated conversation kept us engaged with each other and external influences had little impact.
We talked and laughed and occasionally sat quietly with our thoughts, enjoying the easy companionship of the other. And then we'd look at each other and begin anew.

Bottle of Chateau Margene Cabernet Sauvignon 2001 Reserve nestled in roses with a Paso Robles Wine Festival glass.
Friends brought this to a dinner party, I think it was a special bottle they'd been saving. It may be fine wine, I have no idea, but it was not to my taste. I'd describe it as a bit like strong moldy cheese blended with chocolate, lots of sediment. Color downright brown. Maybe it had gone? No idea. Won't ever look for it.
