C-GVXB - Airbus A-320-212 - Canada 3000

(leased from ILFC)

at Ft. Lauderdale International Airport (FLL) in February 1997

c/n 409 - built in 1993 -

operated by Canada 3000 between 1993 and 2001 -

later by Skyservice between 2002 and 2003 as C-GJUU -

currently with Avion Express as LY-VER

Canada 3000 was a Canadian charter airline offering domestic and international flights. It was the largest charter airline in the world at the time of its operation, with over 90 destinations worldwide, although it changed to scheduled service in 2000 after the Canadian Airlines and Air Canada merger. Canada 3000 competed with Air Canada, WestJet, and charter operator Air Transat. In November 2001, the airline went out of business after a sharp decline in revenues following the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in the United States.

C-GNBC - Magni Gyro M16 - Gyro Ontario Co.

at Region of Waterloo International Airport (YKF) during the 2014 Waterloo Air Show

Magni Gyro currently produces five sport autogyro models, all with similar pod and low boom, pusher engine layouts. They differ chiefly in the accommodation: both the M-16 and the newer, closely similar M-22 Voyager have open cockpits and tandem seats. An 85 kW (114 hp) Rotax 914UL flat four engine is mounted high and uncowled behind the pod, driving a 3-bladed pusher propeller. Below it the slender flat-sided boom carries the fibreglass empennage, which consists of a swept horizontal stabilizer with end-plate fins and a larger, central, fin and rudder. The 2-bladed rotor, mounted on a mast above the pod, is of composite construction. The open cockpits are fitted with dual controls. The M-16 has a tricycle undercarriage with the faired mainwheels on spring cantilever legs. The steerable nosewheel is unfaired. Most aircraft are used as sports and recreational aircraft but some have been employed in agricultural spraying and survey work over nature reserves, traffic observation, fire prevention and photographic mapping.

The good thing about rolling into work really late the day after the holiday party is no one is on the T.

Canon 50D w/ Sigma 28mm (2.0f@1/1000th)

sidenote : The 50D is impressive with the highlights. Shooting this same shot with my much older 300D would of produced a ridiculous magenta fringe around the chrome hand rail.

C-GKFT - McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30F - Kelowna Flightcraft Air Charter (operating for PUROLATOR)

at Hamilton International Airport (YHM)

Some DC-10 - action from YHM - after the end of the PUROLATOR-contract 31.03.2015 the future of these DC-10's in Canada is very questionable.

c/n 33.242 - built in 1945

The stylized crane motif on the nose looks like Lufthansa - in fact the aircraft was at one point leased to LH from Capitol as N9891Z.

In 2012 the aircraft is still in service with Buffalo Airways.
