Buzzing Tibicen cicada (probably near death) :(
More cicada fun on my massive cicada website www.cicadamania.com/cicadas/
I have had to make two of these Buzz models, both for May 1st. I've never made him before (and dreaded having to!) and used an Asda bubble bath bottle as a guide for badges etc. This model is about half the size of the bubble bath bottle.
Wishing Spring on those who need it :D We keep having little blasts of cold but by afternoon it's quite nice so My little Bee is going to try to send some your way ;)
I found this at a picture event at my dorm the other day and just had to take a picture of it. That and also because I was crazily running around testing out my new camera lens i just got a few days ago. The bokeh effect from this lens is just awesome, slight distortion, but barely noticeable, and I didn't bother fixing it either.
ODC - Prickly
This shot from Mars Observer has really inspired me to go out and get a bee shot. Now I'm not sure if a bee should really be considered prickly? But as I looked at this macro I noticed the, um, "things" on this guys legs, as well as hairs and stuff, sure look prickly. So... I deem this bee...Prickly!
Check it out on black for maximum prickliness
Another shot of the guy in his flying machine at sunset. I think it’s interesting that he is buzzing all over out there but people tend to get very excited if I get out my quadcopter, so what’s the difference? He mostly did stay away from people, which I also tend to do.

This is Buzz. He rides around my neighborhood daily on his "customized" tricycle with his two parrots and two dogs. He says his dogs were originally bred to be show dogs by someone else, but he thinks he knows why they didn't work out. They just about took my leg off!
This picture is #9 in my 100 strangers project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at www.100strangers.com
